Sometimes you gotta tip the cap. Blach is pitching probably his best game of his life. Hitting the black, taking advantage of this umpires low and wide zone, just an amazing outing for him.

Suck for us, but Blach is just on his A+ game today.

Must be a great game being called by the catcher he is working with.

Dangerous play. Wynns should have taken his foot off the plate if he knew it was going to be a tag play. Seen a few catchers get hit with the slide in the leg and end up injuring something.

Otherwise, good play by McMahon and Wynns. That’s a tough throw to make and a tough play with someone barreling at you. Looks like Rutschman had his front leg up on the slide which might have kept him from being safe.

Silas Ardoin really impressed me with his arm.  In addition to the perfect throw to Holliday mentioned above, he also fired a strike to 2B to nab a runner stealing.  Watching his throws down to 2B after pitching warmups between innings, his throws were strong and on the money every time.  At bat he hit a solid single and looked respectable otherwise.

This peeked my interest because on Tuesday, Ardoin was behind the dish when Altoona stole 4 bases on him and his throws didn’t look too good.

Holliday is going to be on the OD roster next year. I don’t know why this is so hard for people to understand. There is almost no chance outside of injury that he comes up mid season and burns rookie status.

Why is it so hard for people to realize that it isn’t a lock for him to be on the OD roster next season?

He hasn’t played in AAA yet, which historically has been part of Elias’s plan. He also isn’t exactly at a “position of need.” He has a good to great bat, but does not have “next level” defense and isn’t displaying amazing power.

There is still stuff for him to work on and develop.

  6. Ok, enough fun. Back on topic.

I don't care about who started what. Anymore bickering and back and forth (well, more than the usual for this site anyway...) and people will start getting all expense paid vacations to the Yankees forums.

    Consider this a site warning.

Anderson has issues.  But I don’t see how holding the tag there until the ump made the call is any type of issue.  Jose used it as an excuse to deal with prior chirping.

Looking at it again, it seems like Anderson was chirping about Jose’s slide and might of bent Jose’s right arm (it looks like it was tangled up with Anderson when Anderson went to step over him.)

Either way, the real question is:

Prime Odor vs Jose Ramirez: Who wins?

No, I'm not sorry for stating, yes, facts.

So, Baltimore doesn't have deep, deep social problems?

Ya'll are delusional.  All the more important for you to understand the national reputation that Baltimore actually has.

    You’re “just stating facts?”

Here is a fact from me: Knock it off, keep this thread on topic about the trade deadline and deals, only as it pertains to the TEAM.

I just get good information sometimes. ;) I never saw him play, but I can tell by the answers how excited they really are over a player or not.

Despite his good numbers, it was clear Lara was a "need to prove it at every level" guy.

    *Morgan Freeman voice*

"Lara, in fact, did not prove it at every level."

  9. As a tendency when the draft picks get signed, you need to clear some room.

Darwinzon is surprising, as he had a chance at the big club. But, off to Japan he goes instead.

Mantecon was someone that could have just been an org guy.

Lara, if I’m not mistaken, had some hype about him but couldn’t get it together.

The primary beat writers, Roch, Rich and Steve, all repeated the same gaslighting or propaganda by the Orioles PR machine.  That Basallo left the game with a muscle spasm.  I copied a link to the game and at 47:45 into the archived game, he pops up to foul of 3B and immediately puts his left hand on his left hip. As he hobbled around and walked back to dugout, he continued to press the upper area of where the thigh comes into the hip.

I earned my WWW.MD degree thru Google, and I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I have a feeling this is a bit more than a muscle spasm and more likely a Hip Flexor strain.  Which as a catcher, and the shear violence involved in a baseball swing, hydrating with Gatorade isn't going to fix this.

I hope my bed was lumpy and that my miss spelled something in my medical research... but that walk and urgency from the training staff wasn't over a spasm.

Well, it’s the same group that said Mullins would be back soon, then suddenly it’s “hopefully before the season ends.”

If he’s killing it mid season, maybe they eat remaining salary for McCann.  Lotta ifs.  Nice to see him continuing to improve.

I could see Handley taking a 40 man spot and coming up during injury times to start off, then taking McCann’s spot. If McCann is doing decent, Elias could ship him off at the tail end of a trade.
