Nah, they told everyone that this would be taken seriously in August 2017 and to make sure that you flew straight from then on. The Astros didn't do so and are being punished. Same with the Red Sox. The teams had warning that this would be punished severely.
Good point.

I’m a little slow on the uptake.
No worries, I should have been more obvious.

C- Cisco and Severino (I assume they split time)
1B - Mancini
2B - Alberto
Ss- Iglesias
3B - I would like to see Nunez but think it will be Ruiz
LF - Smith until Stewart is ready
CF- Hays
RF - Santander
DH - Davis. I can’t wait until this is resolved somehow.
I think this is pretty close. I agree about Nunez/Ruiz.
It could be Nunez at DH. Or Mancini in a COF with Davis at 1B and Nunez at DH.

Exactly. It’s an inside joke from a thread a few weeks ago.
I lurked here for awhile, so I'm aware. I thought the line about less sugar would give that away.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome.

I'm new here, but why would you have a Child Beverage Consultant? What's he going to do, tell kids which soda has less sugar?

Congrats Luke. Well deserved!

It’s too early to cement Rocker as 1-1, besides any uncertainty about a pitcher staying healthy for 2 years, there are other players who could jump. Outside of more unexpected jumps, there is Alex Binelas who had a 1.047 OPS as an 18 year old true freshman in the SEC. if he gives teams confidence he’ll stick at 3B, he’s an easy 1-1 candidate. Then there is Braylon Bishop, who is a HS CF with an absurd assortment of tools. They don’t all transfer in game yet but if they do over the next 18 months, another easy 1-1 candidate. Then there is Brady House who is in the discussion for 1-1 already.
It may not make much of a difference, but Binelas plays in the ACC, not SEC.

Can Rio Ruiz take it up a notch?

My opinion is very similar to @Tony-OH. I see Ruiz as a below average hitter and averageish in the field. He's 26 and that's probably "who he is." I haven't looked at his minor league numbers in awhile, but I expected that profile the last time I looked at his minor league stats. I never found Ruiz very intriguing. He simply doesn't seem like someone who will develop in a way that he will play on a contending team.
I also agree with Tony about Nunez. He has a ceiling that could allow him to play for a contending team, particularly if he can play 3B. If I recall correctly, last year, we were told he was injured (elbow?) and could not play 3rd early in the season. I don't recall any updates about that, but it didn't sound like an injury that should have kept him from playing 3rd all season. If he can be developed into a better defensive 3B, we should be trying to do that.
If Nunez is not the answer at 3B, we should be playing the waiver wire for another guy with upside (like Nunez was). I don't follow the waiver wire close enough to say we have missed someone. But we should not be playing Ruiz if there is someone else who has potential.
