  1. I may have missed it, but I didn't see the entire schedule, including non-MASN games, written out anywhere. Here's what I'm seeing right now: 3/1 @ATL on MLB.com 3/2 vs. NYY on MASN, MLBN, YES 3/3 @PIT on SNP 3/5 @PHI on NBCSP+ 3/9 @ ATL on MLB.com 3/10 @TOR on SnetONE, NESN360 (split squad) 3/11 @NYY on MASN, YES 3/14 @PIT on SNP+ 3/15 @TB on BSSUN 3/19 @ TOR MASN, Sportsnet, NESN360 3/20 vs. PHI MASN 3/21 @ BOS MAN, NESN+ 3/23 @TB BSSUN (split squad) 3/23 vs. TOR MASN (split squad) 3/24 @MIN BSNO
  2. If you signed up, I'd check your inbox for an email giving you a code to get the discount. When I renewed, I think the discount applied to renewing or new members at that time. I doubt they have changed it. For clarity, the website says "50 percent discount (applies to 2024 season for renewing members)." That is worded poorly and I understand why @RarityFlaherty read it the way he did. But I think the issue is that they want members to only receive one annual discount on mlb.tv per each year that they donate to MLBPAA. For example, if I make a donation in April 2024 and get the discount for the 2024 season, then they do not want that person coming back in February 2025 asking for a discount on the 2025 season. It is worded poorly, but I strongly suspect new members also get the discount. You may want to inquire with MLBPAA. I emailed them last year and they were responsive.
  3. For those interested: https://www.fanatics.com/mlb/baltimore-orioles/-baltimore-orioles-new-era-2024-batting-practice-59fifty-fitted-hat-white/o-3454+t-92227439+p-5700119225696+z-9-1251652559?_ref=p-CLP:m-GRID:i-r0c2:po-2 I don't see it on New Era's website.
  4. If anyone wants to know where they are "in/out" of market, you should be able to use this link: https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/subscribe Scroll down to "Blackout Restrictions" and type in your zip code.
  5. Let me know if this link doesn't work: https://www.mlb.com/mlbpaa/membership/fans You just need to sign up for the $25 option.
  6. If you use a VPN, you can set it up as if you are out of market. I don't use a VPN, so I can't offer much advice about that. But my understanding is if you set up the VPN in a certain way, then you could avail yourself of all MLB games. If you tried and it didn't work, it might have been an issue with the VPN rather than MLBTV.
  7. Are you in the Orioles market (i.e. MASN is available where you live)? You essentially get all MLB games except any that may be blacked out where you live. For example, I live in Florida, so all Marlins and Rays games are blacked out for me. But I can watch essentially all Orioles games (except if they play the Marlins, Rays, or have an exclusive national game on Apple TV). If you live in the Orioles market, MLBTV will not get you any Orioles/Nats games, but MLBTV should get you all other MLB games. So MLBTV is primarily for out of market fans.
  8. Bumping this thread. I tried this last year and it worked. I'm now getting emails from MLBPAA that they are offering the same deal again. I recommend it. You make a $25 payment to MLBPAA and they give you a 50% discount code for MLBTV. MLBTV normally costs $150, so you save $75 (or $50 if you include the payment to MLBPAA). To get the Orioles-only plan from MLBTV, it is $130 for the year; so you are still saving money and you get all MLB and minor league games (excluding any games that are blacked out where you live).
  9. I believe this is correct as well. Last year at whatever the highest level Fabian reached, his numbers were somewhat poor (if you look at BBref). But he barely played there and it didn't count the postseason stats. When you added the postseason stats, it made a big difference.

  11. You can find a link to Rob Long's interview of Britt here: https://www.audacy.com/stations/1057thefan I don't think she said anything that hasn't already been said on OH.
  12. 2023 is his Arb-3 season. Not the same as being a free agent.
  13. He has walked 12 times in 102 plate appearances. I wouldn't consider that "low walks." It's really just the strikeouts (so far).

  16. Very odd. You seem to think that the Orioles changed Gausman's use of the fastball to make him throw low fastballs and instead of high fastballs. The article does not state or imply that. Probably because the Orioles did not do that. Keep in mind Gausman pitched at LSU from 2011-12. Obviously, in that era, the high fastball was used even less in college than in the MLB. What's your basis for saying Gausman was dominant in college with high fastballs? That's an odd statement and comes across as though you made it up. I haven't gone back and looked it up, but my recollection is that Gausman used the high fastball more frequently than was common at that time when he was with the Orioles. I believe they also increased his usage of the pitch during his tenure in the majors (he was struggling and they tried different things with the fastball that did not work). He also was not very successful when he did use the high fastball with the Orioles. It's an odd jump to try to say that the Orioles decreased his use of the pitch. It's more likely that he used it more with the Orioles than he did before he was with the Orioles. The reason Gausman is more successful now is because the game has changed since he was with the Orioles. It isn't something the Orioles didn't do. The Orioles had him throwing more high fastballs by the end of his tenure (and it wasn't helping). If you want to be upset about Arrieta, that's cool. It's completely different from Gausman. And doesn't justify making up things about how the Orioles used Gausman. Just a hint, but if you want to criticize the Orioles regarding Gausman's pitch mix, look at the off speed pitches.
  17. Why is that infuriating to read? The high fastball wasn't as popular across MLB at that time, not just the Orioles. Pretty bizarre for that to infuriate you.
  18. Because he hit 20 HRs, slugged 560, and was considered one of the top defensive CFers in college baseball. I heard he had a big number so when the Sox picked him, I assumed the Sox knew and they were going to pay it. I'd still guess he takes the money, but there's a lot of chatter about him returning to school. As Faleris noted, Fabian does have a lot of leverage. Unnoted in this thread, Fabian's little brother will be coming to the University of Florida next season and the brothers would like to play together. As an Orioles and Gators fan, I'd love to see him spurn the Sox.
  19. As an out of market fan, I'm willing to pay $40 plus shipping if anyone gets an extra bobblehead.
  20. Fabian is currently hitting .289. He was also hitting .289 when you posted. He's also slugging .627 with 8 HRs in 20 games (83 ABs).
  21. I agree. This year will be very important for Fabian (and other 3rd year college players). The freshman statistics, and largely, the lack of a second season will make the third year very important. Regarding Fabian, my understanding is that much of the hype comes from his performance at Cape Cod and another Florida wood bat league. I haven't looked up statistics, but apparently he has done well in wood bat leagues against good competition.
  22. Yeah, we have to see how the season plays out to see if Fabian is in play for us. You don't draft for need, but I agree our OF is crowded, so ideally we are drafting a player at a different position. All that said, Fabian is a college bat at a premium position and I often see him listed as a top-10 prospect. I imagine if Fabian is in consideration for us, we'll be discussing his age. I see his history a little different in that he already "played up" compared to other prospects. Also, I would guess he had a little less development in HS before competing as a young freshman (I don't know, but guessing he played only 3 years in HS). I don't know that it counts for much in analyzing a prospect, but I think it's interesting if that history matters to teams (I would guess some teams would care and other teams would not).
  23. Since we're discussing prospect ages, I wanted to make a note about OF Jud Fabian. Although he's draft-eligible because this is his third year of college baseball, he should be young for his class. During what should have been the spring of his senior year in high school, he enrolled early at Florida and promptly won the starting CF job. While his numbers as a freshman weren't overly impressive, a lot of top prospects come to Florida and can't win a starting job as a freshman. He started at a premium position when he should have been a senior in high school. We'll see if it helps him as a prospect too.
  24. I'm giving a hypothetical explanation for the Orioles keeping Davis. I haven't seen an explanation on here for why we would keep him. You don't have to agree with the rationale for keeping Davis. But if the Orioles keep him, I think there is a rationale.
  25. Could the Orioles keep Davis until there is another labor agreement? If there is a strike after 2021, maybe they save some money. I know it's not what everyone wants to hear, but putting it out there. Maybe they keep him and have him on the injured list most of next season?
