Well this Twitter page also says we are interested in Bundy and Cueto.

He’s a 5+ WAR player but carry on
Correa 5.4 last year minus Mateo 3.4 last year. He makes us 2 better just based on last year.

Let’s get Rodon or Bassitt and Kluber. They will give us 160-200IP. Kluber can slot into the three spot depending how good GROD.
Bassitt/Rodon
Kluber
GROD
Kremer
Bradish/Wells
Would 2yr 20 million get it done for Kluber? Bassit 3yr 60million?
Voth, Wells or Bradish in the pen, and eventually Means will provide depth and to take over or help with innings limits that GROD will probably have. The Orioles definitely can make this happen. Left handed bat, back up catcher, and maybe another good reliever too? We do these things and I believe we can win the division.

He would have been our guy all the way under prior regimes and they would have tried to pass him off as an ace to Orioles fans.
Well when so many fans have low expectations and want to keep Jordan Lyles as our ace, Clevinger would have felt like we signed DeGrom to them. Rodon & Clevinger, Bassett and Clevinger, Rodon & Kluber, Bassitt and Kluber, something along those lines I would have been fine with.
Clevinger adds more depth to a deep White Sox rotation. -

Cedric will be our starting center fielder. Will produce a WAR of at least 4, will play a great centerfield, will again steal 30 plus bases, will again play at least 150 games, will hit 20 home runs, and score 100 runs. We have him under control for three years and good centerfielders are hard to get. He is a veteran and a great role model for our younger players. He is a big plus!! No way we are trading him.

I think this was the original post where moving Mateo to second was suggested, but I've seen it several times. I suppose Mateo could be a utility guy, but I would imagine he always would play short with someone else moving to second. Some of you guys would have tried to put Belanger in left field.
The Orioles are trying to better their team. You look at all possibilities. If they keep all three and plan on playing all three, then what is best for the TEAM? Is it Mateo SS, Gunnar 3B, Urias at 2B or is Urias 3B, Gunnar SS, and Mateo at 2B? Both Urias and Mateo have done it for one year and other teams quit on them. Are they going to play at that level or better each year? Who knows! I trust Mike Elias on making the decision. I really could care less which way he goes as long as we are improving!
Lets get some stud pitchers and I might give you a shot Oriole22 at an infield spot!

So a little more than a lottery ticket? If that’s all you can get you keep him.
Urias is controlled for three additional years.

Urias makes more sense to trade vs Mateo. First of all, I would guess Urias carries more value. Secondly, Mateo can play more positions in that UTI role.
I would deal both and Urias is a guy I would hate to lose but it makes sense to move him.
Twins got this for Urshela. Urias has many more controllable years.

Probably because Mateo is an amazing SS. And if he hits even at an average level he is a game changer.
So you are saying Mateo SS and Gunnar at 3B? Urias at 2B? Or are you trading him?
-
Why not just play Urias at 3B, Gunnar at SS, and Mateo at 2B. Westburg serves as the utility guy.

Cody Bellinger, Jorge Alfaro as a backup catcher, and how healthy is Alex Reyes?

As a short leash bench/4th OF, sure
That is what I was thinking. Is he better than McKenna? He has a lot more upside that McKenna. Our right field short porch and change of scenery might help him. One year deal with a team option for year 2 is what I would be looking at.

Well the Dodgers do not always get it right.

Any interest in Cody Bellinger? Still only 27 with some big years and playoff experience. Had two bad years but huge upside. Low risk high reward candidate who can play center, corner OF, 1B, or DH. What type of contract will he get?

If I takes 3/130 to get the 40-year old Verlander, I’ll happily go 5/150 for Rodon.
If those are too much risk then they need to double up on two #3’s like sign Taillon and trade for someone like Pablo Lopez.
Plan C is trading for an ace.
I definitely want Rodon. I think 5 years for 135-140 million gets it done. The second pitcher I would acquire would be Clevinger or Kluber on a one or two year contract.
Rodon, GROD, Clevinger, Kremer, Bradish.
Wells and Voth to the pen. Hall to the pen or AAA. Or Hall could maybe piggyback GROD or could be an opener for Kremer or Bradish. Didn’t Tampa limit Glasnow for a period of time. I recall he would start and throw maybe three innings.

"I don't see anyone better" is a terrible reason to go spend $150M. I'd rather wait a year or two and spend $300M on someone we are excited about and have confidence in. Or trade for pitching and keep the cash for bats we have confidence in.
Would you spend the money on Trea Turner then package Holliday to go after Gallen or Marlins’ Ace?
