1. That’s an awful lot to assume.
2. There’s a rule against discussing politics on this site.
He's a Boras client. Enough said.

I for one don’t know that. But his scouting profile suggest that he should be able to do that. I hope that our scouting department and front office assessed that before he was drafted 1:1.
Bobby Witt Jr. and his -22 runs saved was suppose to be a legit MLB Shortstop. Fact is man, it's very hard to find an MLB caliber shortstop. Not even Manny could cut it.

Henderson's agent is Scott Boras. Tells me what I need to know. Trade his ass.

How do you know Holliday is at least an MLB average SS defensively? Very, very few players in the minors have a league average MLB SS glove. Mateo does though, at the least.

Or we can trade the some of the prospects if they have more value?
I’m fine with Urias being packaged as part of a trade to get us the type of pitcher that we need to go deep into October. But if say a Westburg or Ortiz, can get us more back in a trade, I’m fine with that as well. The more important missing piece to the championship puzzle is a big time starter.
Dude I've been saying this the entire season and completely agree with you. The ONLY untouchable guy in the majors or minors is Adley. Everybody else is on the trade block. Everybody.

If an ace is available via a trade you gather your nuts and do it. No more pussyfooting around here. World Series time.

The Orioles have a chance to compete for multiple World Series runs given the sheer level of talent that is within the org. I don’t want to see that ruined because we decide to go super cheap and decide to rebuild/reload or whatever you want to call it, every year.
The way Mateo is playing now it would be insane to trade him, unless the goal is not to chase championships, which as a fan of this team having suffered this long, I cannot support that in any way. I serious struggle to understand that rational of any fan who lives in this community who is on board or okay with an approach that maximizes the owner’s profits of the team’s results. We deserve much better than that!
Sorry for the rant. But it’s frustrating sometimes to read fans/posters on here willing to settle for such a “low bar”. This is our GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY that costs us dearly in the last 5 years of extreme misery! We will probably never have more talent/young assets/prospects than we do now. I don’t want to see us mess this up.
I definitely understand your point. I would prefer to keep him and let him walk during free agency. I would prefer to trade him over sign him in free agency. Look dude, this is the Orioles. This is Angelos. We simply cannot be handing out 20 plus million dollar deals to guys already in their 30s. We don't have that kind of payroll. We can't do it. So the hell with it, he's under team control until he's no longer under team control. Go for the title.
-
Keep them until free agency or trade them. Both won't hit free agency until they are over 30. This organization is not the kind of organization that can hand out too many huge deals to guys who were already over 30. See Albert Belle, Chris Davis, Ubaldo Jimenez.

I need more beer

Auston Voth lol well we will see

Looks like we really scored with this Cano trade. It's like banging a hot chick from Tinder. A pleasant and great surprise.

we dont deserve to win with 1-11 RISP
It all evens out. What happens when we go 7-11 with RISP

It's time to start drinking beer, this game has been super frustrating and weird to watch.

Not Adley’s day. Sometimes you hit into bad luck
His BABIP was around .400 coming into play. He's not going to hit .370, perhaps .315, not eve close to .370

I think you’re the only one complaining about a surplus of infield talent. A team should be so lucky.
Do you know what opportunity cost is?

Gunnar does not belong at 3b...
Well then he needs to DFAed or traded cuz Mateo has won the role with his excellent play. This is Elias' issue. He's logjammed the infield and has not acquired the pitching we need to win.
-
1-10 with RISP sometimes it goes like that. Just haven't found the big knock to break it open.

unbelievable.

Would the White Sox actually walk the bases loaded to face McCann?

Worst thing our pitchers can do is get to a two strike count. Jesus does anybody have an out pitch.
Starters with out pitches go for 30 million a year in free agency, not 8 million. Gibby is what he is, a crafty veteran who can keep you in games, but not dominate. We all knew this.

Eh, I know that's sarcasm, but it's like one broadcaster said last year - "If Mateo can hit, they can't afford him". If Jorge is actually this guy, and who knows, some people bloom late, we won't be able to afford him lol.
It was, but it also isn't. There is only 1 SS on the field and only 2 left side infielders on the diamond. It's a logjam. Somebody has to ride the pine if they don't get traded.

At this point I'd keep Mateo at short and trade Gunnar.
-
They better reach that base safely. Ain't no way in hell should we be running into outs right in front of Adley. Nobody wants to pitch to this guy. Overall to start the season they have done a very good job of not getting caught, but that caught stealing really stings with Adley on deck in tie games. I do not like taking the bat out of the hands of our best hitter. Maybe I'm just too old school, but caught stealing REALLY irritates me.

Boras clients are not the type of guys I want. People hire Boras for one reason and one reason only which is to sell themselves to the highest bidder. No loyalty from these guys.
