    Leandro Arias 2024

Leandro started the season slow at Delmarva although the SS did have one home run before going down with injury. Two reasons he gets his own thread today. One, he was a top 20 prospect in the FCL last year and is a top 30 Oriole prospect. Two, he had a rehab start in the FCL today and had a walk and a 2-2 day in an 8-6 win. Those two hits? A grand slam and a two run homer for 6 RBI.
  2. I know that one. Bacharach and David, right?
  3. But the guys we’re questioning defensivey, Norby, Mayo, and Kjerstad are the ones who played one position exclusively coming up.
  4. Whoever did the pricing on the tickets is sharp. What a deal on the $20 and $50 values!
  5. So, it is on the ceiling? So this is all because you think McKenna is cuter than Hays? Why didn’t you just say so?
  6. Time to take your McKenna poster off the wall? Or is it the ceiling?
  7. So far this year Stowers splits are even. He’s hitting .205 off of LHP and .244 overall.
  8. Ok. But the chances of Mayo playing 3B for the Orioles seem less than 50%. As far as 1B neither look good to me. As far as RF we know Kjerstad is probably average at best, maybe below average too. We know Mayo has a great arm but he might be slower than Kjerstad, get worse jumps than Kjerstad, and take worse routes. We really have no idea.
  9. Mayo looks like a better defensive prospect than Kjerstad at what position?
  10. There’s practice speed and game speed plus I think some of these guys are not playing the position they’re most suited to.
  11. I’ve seen him thrown out before. I don’t keep count but this isn the first time. He does manufacture runs although that’s going to decrease as he moves up. I’d say he’s scored multiple runs like last night where he steals 3B and the catcher makes a bad throw and he continues home. Last night the throw got about 10-15 feet between the 3B and SS and he got up and scored easily. My impression is that when running the bases he needs to learn his limits.
  12. .700-750 OPS That will be mostly against LHP though.
  13. I get the feeling he thinks he’s faster than a speeding bullet and it’s worked before. I think you’re right. He has to adjust to the level of competition. Defenses are going to keep getting better as he moves up. He can’t expect defenses to make mistakes.
  14. Kjerstad is 3 years older. I think there’s a chance that Mayo is better in the long run but it’s certainly no slam dunk as far as I’m concerned. Now, if Mayo was a decent 3B I’d be more inclined to give the significant edge to him but that doesn’t seem likely on this team unless Elias likes my ideas which seems even less likely.
  15. Here’s a question for you Doctor. Are Bradish and Miller considered players with existing injuries or players whose injuries have healed?
