  1. 100% Hays..... Fielding: Hays > McKenna Arm strength: Hays > McKenna Base running: Hays > McKenna Hitting: doesn't matter - as they are no longer starters but late inning defensive replacements / occasional start vs LHP. McKenna can be DFA'd without the ever so slightest chance of being claimed.
  2. This. Cowser should be out there every day starting in LF, Hays should simply slide into McKenna's role and be a late inning defensive replacement and / or back up Mullins in CF vs LHP. McKenna should be DFA'd and back to AAA where I guess we won't see him again until September barring any future OF injuries.
  3. You know who could have saved that phone, that's right.... Craig Kimbrel.
  4. I agree with the bolded part Every team had the option to pick up McKenna - and all of them passed. He will be DFA'd soon when Hays returns and as expected, all teams will pass on him again. If the Orioles can actually trade him and get more than cash considerations, I'd be shocked.
  5. First, Kids 2 and under are free no matter what. Second, Kids 9 and under are free - you just have to get tickets in certain sections with a paid adult ticket. Usually, they run about $17 per ticket. So, a family of 4 going to the game would be $34.00. Thats not that bad at all. The Orioles also do a lot of ticketing strategies / plans to make it affordable IF you do plan on attending 4+ games in a season. Sometimes you just have to do it before the season starts. What I don't like - is that every year the concessions cost more $$$, the portions get smaller, and the parking fee's increase. I remember back in 2014/2017 you could go get a pretzel for $5.00. It was decent size and now of course - its like $7.50 and they changed the shape to a small "O".... All of that is getting out of control.
  6. Ben said something on the MASN broadcast that the high leg kick could be impacting his timing. I don't think it's something that needs to be completely removed but to me it his swing looks similar to Bryce Harper. Harper does have a high leg kick and has been tweaking his stance for years. If you see below - high leg kick remains but he made other adjustments. ^ More upright, quicker load transfer, etc.
  7. I guess shoulder is a lot better than forearm. Hopefully it's just some overuse / soreness issue that just requires rest. We are fortunate to have Means coming back as well as Irvin and Suarez holding it down. Bradish will be added soon and we also have a young lefty dominating in AAA. This isn't the best of news - but we will be fine. Roy hit us with the RFRJ (Roy Firestone Reverse Jinx) at the right moment.
  8. hmmmm......."John Means Day - April 31st" Sounds about right.
  9. 100% completely agreed! I can usually start watching the game around dinner time. We do have a strict no TV rule with the kids during dinner time, however, the Oriole games are the only exception. It's not really watching, more like listening. We'll usually turn our heads when we hear KB getting excited. By the time everything is cleaned up and the kids ready for bed - the game is usually in the 3rd frame (7/8/9) innings. Well done MLB and Orioles.
  10. Ah the classic reverse @Roy Firestone jinx. I am feeling it.
  11. I thought we fixed this problem already.... that's why the guys wear those absurd over mitts when they get on base.
  12. My guess is that we needed another Right-handed outfielder, and we have all lefties and one switch. Easy move since McKenna is already on the 40 man. Stowers time will come soon. McKenna should be nothing but a late innings defensive replacement or maybe a one spot start against an upcoming lefty which Hays may be healthy by then. He should not take any AB's away from Cowser and/or Mullins, but we know Hyde will probably sit Cowser. This is a head scratcher as I thought Holliday should be given more time but to see him being sent down with McKenna coming up... barf.
