  1. You mean Holliday believing the leg kick is beneficial to him is worth more than the swing mechanics experts on OH?
  2. They have both earned the call up.
  3. I would want to get Walters back from Cle..electric relief prospect in AAA. This is a real philosophical question….do you trade the unproven young guy for BP help or do you trade the vet proven guy for BP help? In the offseason, I feel that’s a no brainer and you move the vet but during the season, the decision becomes much harder imo.
  4. Ken brings up a point that can’t be overstated enough…beating up on your opponents is the true measure of how good you are. Winning 1 run games is great and all but winning 8-0 shows a much more true level of dominance over your peers.
  5. It’s not just luck, nothing is. But 1 run records aren’t usually sustainable from year to year. There is a lot of luck involved but sure, having high K pitchers that miss bats are huge in those types of games.
  6. Posted this in another thread but a reminder of how Holliday views his leg kick: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/jackson-holliday-talks-hitting/ Now maybe he’s wrong about the leg kick as he faces tougher pitching but I don’t see him dropping it anytime soon. I also don’t recall anyone being worried about it before.
  7. Basically every closer was a failed starter at some point..including Rivera.
  8. He very well may have been better. Do you know that Maddux wasn’t?
  9. In his career, Burnes’ best FIP is facing the order the first time.
  10. If he has to be a closer, he figures it out. People like to judge a guy in a completely different role and act as if that is how things will always be. He’d be an elite closer
  11. Yea the suggestion is out of the blue. It’s an absurd thought. And Smoltz did that after he had TJ surgery.
