  2. No but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
  3. Yea but we have a guy who has been really good in 5 ST innings and despite a mediocre career before that, we really should be valuing those 5 innings!!!
  4. Same ones we have had all offseason for the pen and the injuries in the rotation mean we need another good starter.
  5. The issue I have is that we have obvious pitching issues and we should be using this depth to help solve that, not worry about having positions that are super deep.
  6. It does..it’s just not the best team we can put out there but for service time reasons, it can work.
  7. He’s the one they should keep. So many lefty OFers, plays a decent LF in a park where you need that.
  8. So you have Kjerstad, Holliday and Mayo in the minors. On a normal day, the lineup looks like this (not by order) Adley Mountcastle Westburg Gunnar Urias Hays Mullins Santander OHearn Cowser will get in there a good amount but don’t see Stowers playing much at all. So, in your scenario, Stowers is here to play a few times a week at most and we play Urias or Mateo everyday. Ugh
  9. Trades can always happen..as can injuries. OHearn is definitely on the team unless either of those happen. I also don’t see the value being there for a trade to be worth it.
  10. Kind of what you are saying here but I would ask it differently. If the FO knew that all of these guys would look this good in camp, would they have kept all of the vets? It’s not as much about the stats in ST. As we have discussed, you can only take so much from them. That said, these guys are all proven MiL talents. They are all ready in terms of that and they have come in ready, looking like they belong in the majors. Had they known all of that, I think they would have been more motivated to trade guys.
  11. I could see anything from prospects to ML pitching that helps now. It really depends on how each team views different needs.
  12. From a pure perspective of who I expect to have the better year, I would rather move Santander vs Mountcastle (I think Mounty could have a really nice season this year) But for a team standpoint, AS may mean more in the locker room and obviously the play on the field should be good enough. End of the day though, I don’t really care which one they move but I would be looking to move at least one of them and either Mateo or Urias.
  13. Well we could but the team has chosen a different path.
  14. Well yea..obviously you send him down but we are talking about how can he get at bats right now.
  15. Right. Either Holliday and Mayo aren’t here at the same time or one or 2 of those vets are traded. If you could give Mayo 400+ at bats right now, you bring him up but you can’t. He has to play other positions to get those at bats and he can’t play them with those guys here. This is why I said all offseason that we needed to deal from some of this depth.
  16. The FO is going to learn that, barring a collapse or injury from one of the other guys that Mayo is going to have to move, whether it be first or RF..or both. That said, those guys are also preventing him from being able to DH as well. Urias is a back up guy that will play sparingly. That isn’t someone that is blocking him. Thats the point.
  17. Yes, I could see that in the future but that isn’t the set up now because of the existing vet bats.
  18. As I asked a few weeks ago, why does Holliday deserve to be one here over Mayo?
  19. How does he play third base? Are they benching Holliday (or not bringing him up), Westburg or Gunnar?
  20. The only ways that will happen is if there is an injury or one of Westburg or Holliday really struggles. They aren’t going to relegate Westburg to a part time player. I guess I should also say that it could happen early on if Mayo makes the OD roster and Holliday is sent down and doesn’t come up until June. I don’t think any of those scenarios is particularly likely.
  21. Mayo isn’t going to be a third baseman in the majors. Not that he can’t do it but it’s not happening in Baltimore.
  22. Urias is not the one blocking Mayo. They are not going to essentially bench Westburg…and they shouldn’t. The players blocking Mayo are Santander, Mountcastle and OHearn.
  23. Our cell phone plan gives us Disney, Hulu and ESPN+ for free. Paramount is amazing so many great shows on there (seems like all are Sheridan shows).
