  1. He was good for two innings but wasn't getting a lot of swing and miss. Started to lose command in the 3rd inning and gave up the run. Velocity was 95-95 in 1st, then fell off to more 94-95.
  2. Again, I'm talking about tonight, not his whole season. Tonight Gibson did not do his job effectively. And yes, I agree with you that Hyde is clueless on how to use a long reliever so he doesn't burn through his pen.
  3. Awful throw by Hays. Now grant it he's not use to throwing from CF, but man he allowed his arm to drop and the ball really ran on him up the line. That's a throw he needs to make. A decent throw there and the runner is out.
  4. Lol.. Just an annoying awful game now. Can't stand watching Hyde manage his bullpen. Can't stand starting pitchers that crap their pants and need 95 pitches and can't get out of the 6th inning with a big lead. Baker can't pitch in May, yet he's out there crapping his pants. The Coulombe bubble may have burst.
  5. Yep. That's another reason I'm annoyed because I know how Hyde manages. I know he's going to chew through his bullpen tonight in a game that was once 8-1.
  6. Are you talking about the 109.1 MPH rocket that Naylor hit over Santander's head that had a .670 xBA? It looked bad, but that ball was absolutely smashed because Gibson was unable to make a good pitch.
  7. This is one of those annoying games where the offense gets off to a great start then basically decides to take the rest of the game off. Meanwhile, the pitching starts allowing the other team to chip away until we're in a dog fight late in a game where we should have had a laugher. this team has no ability to just have a laugher. Just a simple beat them into a pulp and laugh and go home. I hate these kinds of games.
  8. I'm not talking about him this season, I'm talking about him tonight. He did not do his job well tonight.
  9. Why are you throwing an away fastball on 0-2? Why? Why? Throw it up and if anything, up and in.
  10. On top of it all, now Gibson's lack of ability to get outs means Hyde will chew threw 3 or 4 relievers to get through this. Watch, he'll end up needing to use Bautista.
  11. Gibson is typically just fine, but this was a crap performance. Yet you have people behind the dugout giving him a standing ovation and people on here saying it was a good performance. It wasn't. I just want to see a complete game by the Orioles. Score a lot of runs, starter gives seven innings, and they can rest the bullpen for the most part. It was looking that way, but nope, Gibson had to crap his pants when he was unable to do what he was signed to do. He needs to get the team at least into the 7th if not through the 7th in that situation. He started nibbling around doing some BS out there. Go out, change speeds, throw strikes and eat innings. Pitchers back in the day knew how to do that. They knew how to just throw strikes and get guys out with big leads. now you got Gibson up there throwing the kitchen sink all over the place going deep into a counts and being out of steam at 95 pitches.
  12. No, I was having a decent night and then Gibson couldn't get out of the 6th inning with a 8-1 lead. That's garbage. Do your job. He literally was signed to be that guy. He was literally signed to be the guy that gives you 6 or 7 innings and definitely when they give him a big lead, he needs to go out and save the bullpen. Now here we are needing to chew up 3.1 innings with the bullpen because he can't do the job he was brought here to do.
  13. Nope, 5.2 innings against the Indians after being given a big lead. I don't count this as a solid outing at all. It's a poor outing because he's an innings eater and supposed to be the guy who gives the bullpen a rest. The Orioles gave him 8 runs and he totally crapped his pants. He's supposed t go more than 5.2 innings. Now more bullpen work because he can't do his damn job.
  14. Really disappointing outing by the "innings eater". And screw those people behind the dugout that give a standing ovation for that start. I absolutely hate people who give standing ovations to just any performance. 5.2 innings against the Indians? That's a garbage start.
  15. Givens only threw 15 pitches yesterday so hopefully he can eat some innings.
  16. Really would like to see Gibson get into the 7th since they are up 8-1, but now I just kind of want him to get through 6.
  17. It's not always about velocity, but command of that fastball/sinker.
  18. This is when you don't have plus stuff you end up having these long at bats because you can't put anyone away. Gibson gets scared to throw his fastball too often.
  19. Two things Josh Naylor does not miss... Fouling off a Gibson pitch and any meal.
  20. Well he is facing the Indians. But yeah, he's been money so far.
  21. Has anyone mentioned how nice it is to hear Kevin Brown again?
