  1. It doesn't appear he's missed Royal Farms too much. Looks like he eats that chicken everyday!
  2. Lol, this is quite the clown show now. We have now been outscored 17-3 in these jerseys.
  3. Yeah, not sure he's the guy you give $5 million to. Was he this big with the Mets?
  4. How is that a bae running mistake? Mateo deeked him. He then got up and got to 3rd base anyways.
  5. Haha, I do remember hearing his voice. Imagine having that voice yelling, "Get off my plate" after drilling you with a 95 MPH fastball.
  6. Maybe if the announcer told us they were stealing we would have known.
  7. Yeah, he was beast out there. Obviously a bit before my time, but Bob Gibson was also an intimidating presence on the mound.
  8. Ok, let's get back to the game now. I think we've all had our say.
  9. The weird thing is Baker was bad last May too. There's something about May for Baker that he doesn't like. He turned it around pretty go in June of last year so just a little more to go hopefully.
  10. It's ok for us to agree to disagree. I believe there is plenty of unfairness in hiring. I have a very broad set of experiences that tells me that the world is unfair, but sitting around blaming others and forcing "fairness" is a great way to just continue to foster an environment of unfairness. But anyways. This game sucks!
  11. I agree. I never get when fans say "They don't look like they care today!" I think they look like they are being beaten by a hot team right now.
  12. Kremer pitched pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of him stomping around the mound after a bad pitch, but I do like he looks pissed off the entire time he's on the mound.
  13. It's still only the 6th inning. I'm pretty sure we've seen this team come back plenty this year.
  14. Well, at no point did I ever say she was the worst ever or that the Orioles are the only team doing this.
  15. No. I think some probably were hired because they used to be players or they have a connection to the local city. Some very well have been hired because they knew the right people to get an interview and then convinced the team to hired them. There are lots of reasons why anyone is hired. Newman is not close to being good enough to be a major league PBP announcer. There are probably 100 or more minor league PBP guys with a ton more experience who deserved a chance and would have been better. There is one thing Newman has over them. She checked a box. Sorry if the reality of the world does not jive with what you want to believe, but that's the way things work. It happens in the real world and it happens especially in the sports world now where teams are trying to check boxes all the time to show how great they are. Now, is Newman so bad that I need to turn off the sound on TV, no, I don't think so. But no one can convince me that if she was a guy with the way she announces, that she would have been hired.
  16. Scott is one of the best people you will meet, but it was time for him to move on from PBP work for sure.
  17. I probably didn't say that well. Obviously the rest of the Orioles announcers are white males, so I meant to say that they are not going to replace Newman with another white male. It's just the world we live in and the Orioles are 100% on board. Again, no way Newman was hired on merits. There are many, many minor league PBP guys that are significantly better. I listen to many different minor league broadcasts and it's not even close. So I get it, most people don't want to open up that can or worms, but she's not good enough to be doing PBP for a major league team. Pre or post game stuff? Sure! She does very well.
  18. She was not hired to do just pre and post game. She was hired as one of the rotating play by player announcers between radio and TV. She thankfully lost out the main gigs to Brown, Arnold and Hollander. She has moved into the main role of post game and fill in PBP announcer. I have zero against her. She's good looking young lady who seems to be a big baseball fan. Who doesn't like that? But, she's just not very effective at PBP. She just feels like someone who got promoted too quickly to the majors.
  19. Man, thanks for letting everyone know that the majors is harder than the minors. lol C'mon man, you need a better schtick. You say things all the time that just causes eye rolls because you say things that we all know. What's your point? Are you surprised that fans want their top prospects to play, especially when players who play their position is not doing well? And I hate to tell you, this has nothing to do with just Orioles fans. All fans of teams that follow the entire organization do this.
  20. Do you think Newman was hired because she's one of the best "let's say 60 play by play announcers?" I could care less that she's a woman. In fact, I think she's very good at the post game stuff and I've heard her on the pre-game radio show and when she prepares herself, she does very well. As for Garceau, he's a Baltimore legend.
  21. Perhaps. Who knows. It was just so bad. How do you not let us know that Mateo was off the base as the left fielder was coming in on the ball?
