This isn't a team that is built to absorb big slumps. Not when you have a lineup that at best barely exceeds a .700 OPS, slumps seem more pronounced. None of this should be a surprise to us.

If... and I mean if... the main goal is to make the playoffs, Elias has to shake something up IMO. Bring up Gunnar and Stowers, and remove Nevin and Phillips. They add nothing to this team. Now is there a guarantee that Gunnar and Stowers will make an impact? Absolutely not. But if this team is going to make the postseason, it needs to try other options than its current bench.

I want more than 1 reliable starter. I want a big RBI producer in the middle of the order too. I also want a Martin D-45 too. But I'm not sure I can afford it.
