Great post. Watching highlights this morning, I noticed that Holliday is very close to the plate with his stance. Not quite on top of it but close. I suppose that allows him to cover the outside pitches even though he pulls off a bit with his swing.
I only saw the highlight, but it was a stunning play. Was Brach the color commentator last night? I sure didn't like his reaction that said it was a "Jeter jump" throw.
Yeah that's exactly what I meant. I'm wondering if when he gets to the bigs, and sees more high 90s / 100 mph outside fastballs, is "stepping in the bucket" going to pose a problem for him?
First of all... I'm in awe of the numbers Holliday has put up.
My question... with his batting stance, does he seem to pull off the plate somewhat? Does it make him vulnerable to pitches located on the outer half?
I'm mostly curious about what the plan is once Means, Wells, Hall, and Givens are ready to join the team. At least 2 of them should be in the bullpen in the postseason if they are pitching well.
