I also wonder if Ohtani is going to have a greater risk than most pitchers simply by being in the batters box so many games. I seem to remember that the Mets made Dwight Gooden hit RH even though he was LH? They wanted to protect his pitching arm from facing the mound? Can you imagine Ohtani getting a $500 mm contract, and getting hit on the right hand or wrist by a 100 mph fastball?
