They should each have to give their top two pitchers to the Orioles while continuing to be responsible for their contracts.

Bob "Rocky" Johnson, Woody Held, Tito Landrum, Hobie Landrith, Chuck Estrada, Clay Dalrymple, Chico Salmon, Sam Bowens, Russ Snyder ... the list goes on.

I'd rather go through as many guys as necessary to find one young guy with a future. W/L don't matter.

Yep if 2018-2019 wasn't enough to get him to quit no reason to expect future ineptitude to change his mind. He's already a joke on a national level.
He's also a terrible example for the younger players on the team because he doesn't do his work and then he lies about it. I'd rather not have Mountcastle exposed to his influence.

That’s an interesting question - if you could pick a player to be our “fan ambassador” from the 2010’s, who would it be? Adam Jones is the obvious answer, but after him, who would be your pick? Seems to me the obvious candidates would be (in no particular order) Davis, Wieters, Hardy, Schoop, Markakis, Tillman and Britton. I’m leaving Manny out of this since he won’t be retired for another decade and will have spent the majority of his career elsewhere.
Davis does nothing for me. I'd just as soon see Delmon Young as our fan ambassador.

Elias has said that he will be on the team in spring training, but has made no commitment beyond that. I predict that in spring training Chris Davis will demonstrate that he didn't do a lick of work in the offseason and the Orioles will pull the plug. He won't be on the team on opening day unless he has a spring training that is significantly better than the way he played the last two years.
-
He's no Julio Lugo, and that's great news!
-
So, we can cut Chris Davis now?

I thought fights between baseball personnel in Baltimore only happened at the bar at Cross Keys.

You are probably right, but he should have a chance to win a roster spot in spring training.
I don't think players win major league jobs in spring training under Elias. If Hays couldn't do it with the spring he had last year, it probably can't be done. Also, his .505 OPS in AFL might be an indication that he has some development work to do at AAA.

Sign a SS.
Add a starter.
Add a 4th catcher to AAA
Add a major league ready starter that will pitch at Bowie. A 4A type. The AAA rotation is full but he O's need more starting pitching depth that will be on the shuttle to Bowie/ Camden Yards. Right now the Bowie rotation appears to be DL Hall, Sedlock and Shepherd.
Add a first baseman to the Norfolk roster to take over when Mountcastle is promoted.
These should all be on Pail's bucket list

He doesn't project as someone worth that kind of commitment, so let him prove it first.

It's pretty funny that whatever site this list comes from thinks* they can estimate player value down to the hundredths of a win. That's a 10th of a run, or a fraction of the value of a single strike. I'm a fairly big advocate of using WAR for a lot of things, but even a half a win in assumed error might be stretching it.
* I'm going to assume that they just posted estimated WAR totals and didn't even think about the absurdity of going to two decimal points.
Looks to me like the WAR posted is historic, from 2019. I don't see any WAR posted under 2020.

Didn't Buck have to intervene because Wieters was being hazed? Doesn't sound like someone with strong leadership skills.
That's news to me. He always struck me as the defensive captain on the field.

One year closer to transitioning from tearing it down to building it up. The new years can't come soon enough.

If we're bringing back someone, I'd prefer Wieters. Stronger leader, better defender.

Are you saying that other players didn't hit more homeruns? That it only affected Mancini and not the rest of the players? Nonsense.
No, I wasn't saying that.

Fair enough. Well, I said that wasn't my intention and I'll be sure to choose my analogies more careful in the future.
Thanks.

I used the term girlfriend, but it wasn't meant to be gender specific. There isn't a single misogynistic bone in my body and I'm not really sure how you got them from my comment. It's not like I invented the term / concept of a "rebound".
I just read what you wrote and found it highly objectifying of women. If I had a daughter and anyone spoke of her with language like that I would demand an apology, at the very least. I used to be able to just sit by, quietly, when people wrote or said things like that, but I can't do it anymore. It's disgusting.

Why are you assuming that @wildbillhiccup is a guy? That's pretty sexist. Women date women too.
Where did I say anything like that? A misogynist doesn't have to be a man.

He's kind of like a rebound girlfriend. You know she's not perfect and that it won't last, but dating her is a means to an end.
Are you a misogynist by trade, or do you just play one on an internet forum?

This is great. This sucks. All the best, @Luke-OH. You gave us all a lot to chew on. Hope your experience with the O's is everything you want it to be and more. Also, I think @Moose Milligan has some old Colby Rasmus gear for you.
