Ballbusters

I'm confident that Elias will definitely be making a move before opening day if nothing else then to move McKenna for cash (can't see him making the roster). But I think the player to trade that makes the most sense is O'Hearn. coming off a career year his stock is at it's highest point. He really doesn't fit on the roster and I don't think there are any at bats for him with Cowser on the team and Mountcastle healthy. Offensively they probably have similar projected stats and obviously Cowser has a better defensive profile. I would think the return would be looking for some young projectable rookie league pitcher. I also think that if that were to happen they keep Nevin to backup and be a RH bat off the bench.

At the game last night I was extremely impressed with Basallo. He is a physical marvel. He build and size is something to see and he move well for a man his size. The ball just sounds different off of his bat like it does with great hitters. They stole a few bases on him and he looked a little slow getting out of his crouch, but the arm is strong. I think at the end of the day he is a first basemen. Before each at bat he looked to Holiday for info on what the pitcher was doing and how his pitches moved, can't wait to see him develop.

So I as at the game last night, and I was amazed at the plate discipline of Holliday. I think he only swung at 3 or 4 pitches in his 5 at bats. His called strikeout was on a questionable call. You could tell he definitely didn't agree with the call. Not much for him to do on defense but he did have to pick a few cutoffs and throws from the catcher that he does with ease and confidence. Good base runner as he legged out an infield hit and stole second easily. No doubt in my mind he is ready for a more advanced level. Interesting note is that he and Basallo seemed to communicate about what the pitcher was like after Holliday's at bats.

Yeah I was really disappointed in Davis' effort, if you can't hit you better be on point with your defense.
