  1. Yeah, I caught a Fred Nats-Delmarva game earlier this year. Green was struggling at the plate for most of the game and then later hit the longest homer I've seen hit in that stadium. Some peaks and valleys to his career thus far.
  2. That's pretty wild. I did not know that.
  3. Because of his injury history, they could not get the contract insured.
  4. We probably had a longer thread a few years ago about that damned Lew Ford.
  5. https://www.audacy.com/podcast/the-big-bad-morning-show-10d9e/episodes/the-athletics-britt-ghiroli-shares-why-the-kevin-brown-situation-is-par-for-the-course-for-the-orioles-franchise-ab6c5
  6. That was June 30. Because I took a picture of Ben out there with his Coors Light haha. And yeah, that wallet line made me pause too. I get that he was trying to be funny, but not everybody is going to think that is funny.
  7. Whaaaaat? I have no recollection of any run-ins between you and Nestor back in the day. None whatsoever.
  8. That's always the first thing that comes to mind when I think about Kevin Brown. Kardashian.
  9. I honestly don't think I knew that. Or at least I don't remember that.
  10. Yeah, I can't argue that, and its a very valid point. But it was buried in about 286 other ridiculous points.
  11. I am not weeping, champ. I am thoroughly enjoying the season, while also recognizing the shortcomings of ownership. You know, the kind of dumb stuff that can...and has with this same team and the same family...derail success. But everything is sunshine and rainbows, baby.
  12. Sure thing, I will call up my buddies Michael Kay, Jason Bennetti, Gary Cohen, Dan Patrick, Chris Russo, John Sterling, Suzyn Waldman, Kevin Negandhi and Dave O'Brien and tell them to calm down on the criticism of John Angelos because he really is a fine chap and Kevin Brown is really the bad guy here. I was going to wait until we all got together for our weekly Friday beers, but this might require an emergency group text.
  13. So you're the victim here. You and poor John. Got it.
  14. Yeah, those ESPN folks clearly know nothing about broadcasting. You are wrong. Very wrong. Kevin Brown will be just fine and very successful in broadcasting, whether that is with the Orioles or otherwise.
  15. Same here. That's where my mind went pretty quickly too. People like Elias, Sig, Holt.
  16. Jackpot. Everybody was pretty happy until yesterday. Then we were collectively baffled by the ridiculous actions of our petty team ownership. I am still elated by the performance of the team and proud of what they have done. But I am annoyed and embarrassed by the actions of ownership.
  17. Do you really want to talk about team results under the Angelos family?
  18. Especially one that is extremely popular and has been around for almost 20 years.
  19. I just flipped it on Dan Patrick and they are talking about it right now. Going through all of the reactions and criticizing the thin skin of ownership. Nothing new, but just adding to the criticism. Dan and his crew seem baffled by the ridiculousness of whole thing. I figured it would get a mention, but they are actually spending a lot of time on it.
  20. Maybe its as simple as he wasn't available to come back tonight. This all just blew up yesterday. Maybe KB decided to go off the grid for a few days and could not make it back to Baltimore for tonight's game. I would not blame him for getting far away from the situation for a few days if that's the case. Or maybe they asked him to come back tonight and he (or his agent) told them to shove it, and he wants a few days to hopefully let things die down. I wouldn't blame him for that either.
  21. I never doubted it, I just figured there had to be more to the story. I think I am a rational human being, and the whole thing just seemed so absurd. But at some point, I remembered that we are not dealing with rational human beings here.
