Akin has been bad here no doubt. A better right fielder takes a better route and catches that ball. Not saying it was easy. But that’s on Hyde for not having a McKenna out there. It’s also non Santander for taking a poor route. There’s plenty of blame to go around. And blaming Hyde for not putting in the defensive replacement he’s been putting in RF all year in late games doesn’t absolve Akin of any blame.

That’s a big part of it for sure. But they look like ass right here and that’s not Gibson’s fault.
