I get the frustration but 10 million dollars doesn't typically buy you a 7-inning starter. Gibson has been fine, in my opinion, and has come up big when he's had to. This is a team that puts the ball in play...a lot and there were some bad plays behind him.

I get it, I think people just forget that velocity =/= the ability to actually pitch. Guys swing through 93 like it's 99 if the pitch is good. Your brain isn't wrong, 94-95 is a very good arm

94-95 is a good velocity for a FB. 102 is a bad velocity if you throw it down the middle, 92 with movement is good enough.

7 runs isn't good enough, this offense has gone flat and they are just mailing it in.

Wells needs to figure out how to mitigate the long ball. He can make this light-hitting team look like the '27 Yankees with meatballs over the heart of the plate.

He had 23 AB's against LHP for a .448 OPS in 2022 and 36 this year with a .465. I'm not one to go into panic mode over 59 ABs and completely write him off like a bust like some here are. Also, his OBP is almost 100 points higher this year against LHP.
