He looked fantastic tonight, but I'm still very concerned about his splits against LHB. 1.247 OPS against him in almost the same amount of AB's as last season. It's up by .700 points so I don't know that I would have him in high leverage situations against LHB. I hope he can lower that number. He's killing RHB, though. Killing them. I keep hoping the .609 BABIP gets better but it's hanging around...

You do realize that "on pace for" means virutally nothing right? If he ends up with 25 HR's, which is completely possible will you still call him a steroid user with no facts? Nelson Cruz was on pace for like 94 HR's when he was an Oriole. How did that work out for him? On pace for is meaningless. The Orioles were on pace for 102 wins just a couple of weeks ago. Its the most useless saying in baseball.

If Mookie Betts were an Oriole and hit 5 HR's in 2 days, not a single person on this board would suggest he was on steroids. Not one. He's an incredible talent. Period.

The point is that the trade does nothing to push us closer to contention and we trade a starter with six years of control for that.

I hope they won't mortgage the future for a chance at sneaking into the second wild card. This is not a very good team. Even with Parra and another bat, this team's chances are not good.

He had 6.1 WAR in 2013, he's got 2.1 WAR now. I'd argue he's already had his career year.

Thank you for taking the time to give me your opinion. Now, Dan. Parra has been in the league for 9 years. He's accrued 4.6 DWAR over the course of those 9 years, with 4 of those 4.6 wins coming in one season. He played Stellar D once in his career. He's not a stellar defender. People whined about De Aza playing Defense but he's also been better than Parra this year. Snider was flamed for no power, Parra has no power. This isn't a move that puts a team over the top.
