If Jones is ever called up, the O's could theoretically start - by far - the fastest lineup in the game with the following 5 players:

    2B - Jones
    SS - Martin
    3B - Mateo
    LF - McKenna
    CF - Mullins

Of course, the hit tool for this group of players other than Mullins is extremely questionable. But it would be pretty cool to see a lineup this fast. This doesn't include Hays who is also fast, but these days probably not quite elite.

Wow Mateo stole 283 bases in the minors and 82 in rookie/High A in one season.  Will be fun to see some aggressive base running with this group at least.

Same here; that's why I came to OH. Knew someone would have some insight. Breathing a sigh of relief.

Same as well here!  It’s O’s fan’s history and expirations that something will go wrong.

    Murphy’s law or something…..?

Now, Leyba or Valaika for 2B?

Despite switch hitting, appears handedness of opposing SP has correlated with Leyba Sit/Start last 6 games.

I would hope for more of Lebya but didn’t realize they were platooning him on whatever side is better for him (have not been paying much attention for some reason).

  4. Something I never expected I would think in 2021:  I so wish at least one other player on the O’s would have a slugging percentage close to Cedric Mullins.

Nice to see him picking up from where he left off so far.

Gotta admit, this is getting painful to watch...  1 for 27....  :(

Send him back down to Delmarva or give him a few more games to see if he can turn it around????

Just once in my lifetime, I'd like to see an Orioles prospect get a promotion and completely dominate the new level....   but I don't think that's ever happened....

12 walks in 40 plate appearances.   Has a .325 OBP with only that one hit.  And it’s only been 10 games.

I don't know if you noticed this, but they changed the ball.

There is a handy little stat called OPS+, it's like OPS but it has modifiers that adjust for things like a non-juiced ball.

    Machado in 2019- OPS 798, OPS+ 110

    Machado in 2021- OPS 789, OPS+ 124.

Of course I don't think you are so stupid you don't know this.  I think you are just ignoring evidence so you can spew vitriol.

I had thought the Webbrick anti Machado diatribe would have been sooner.   He was slumping really bad a few weeks or so ago but actually had heated up somewhat recently.

Machado must have kicked his puppy or something.

Is a win still worth about 8M in free agent dollars?   If so, the paltry 34M this year is gonna be a bit economical, if Machado keeps going as is…
