  1. Mets swept by the Marlins getting a total of 3 hits during the weekend.

The Cano trade is a disaster as is their ownership, agent GM and manager.

Cespedes injures himself apparently on his ranch. Mets are playing at home; maybe he should have been with the team.

Cano doesn't run out double plays but that's nothing new. Ramos is off to a horrible start. Frazier is done. Their pitching hasn't been as good as it should.

For a team that their agent GM dubbed, the team to beat in the NL east, they are the circus show of MLB.

  2. I'm still surprised Jones only got a 1 year 3mill deal. I've wondered, if he accepted the deal to the Phillies and hit well down the stretch, if he would have gotten some of the stupid money instead of McCutchen.

Yeah, it's been fun watching the Twins offense this year. Fireworks nearly every night.

Orioles are a business. They will draw more then tonight for the giveaway,so more profit with higher ticket prices. That is why they charge more for Yankee and Red Sox games. To make more on the Yankee and Red Sox fans. That being said ,the Orioles ticket prices are not that bad.

I dont think you are right though. Attendance for the giveaway game would be higher without increased prices.  And you might get fans in the habit of going to games.  I was looking to buy tickets and then saw ridiculous prices.  My wife doesn't like moving to better seats. So the buying cheap seats and moving up doesn't work for me.

There are a ton of seats left. I wonder if the O's business management side thought people would simply go down to the Yard being that people were itching for baseball after a long off-season as well as expect people to come and get the promos. That obviously isn't happening. Ticket prices are too high in many areas for a team that may finish in last of all of MLB again.

Attendance is a major issue across MLB. Prices need to be lowered, in some cities it's getting completely out of hand.

  4. Really O's.. I went to get club level tickets for me and my brother for today's double dip and nearly all lower level and club level seats went up as the page refreshed. The game is at 20% capacity right now. O's should be doing whatever they can to get people in the seats, not the opposite.

Time for the O's to put up or shut up. After failing to acquire any top prospect(s) from the Braves for Gausman, it's even more critical they acquire Mesa. Their record is abysmal, attendance is non existent; it's very important the O's make a huge splash in the International market both for the future of the club as well as a sign to the fan base that things will change. Enough with the lip service.

I remember when Manny Ramirez deliberately went missing during a series with the yankees at the old stadium. He apparently had pharyngitis only to be spotted at a hotel bar hanging out with a bench player of the yankees. (can't remember who) What a teammate.

The timetable is longer than originally expected ........ but there is still a good chance that Bauer will be ready when the ALDS starts, 7 weeks from today.

Good to be in the AL Central when you need time to recover.

Hard to trade Schoop and Gausman without getting a top 100 prospect back, but we pulled it off.

They had like 9 players in the top #100 and we couldn't get one BECAUSE...... we offloaded O'Day' money.

Not pleased with this trade at all. I had to check mlbtraderumors again to see if that was it.

It’s kind’ve interesting — the Nats are basically in a similar position to where the O’s were in 2015 and 2017.     You could make an argument that they should be trading Harper right about now.

  9. Fry deserved much better. Who is the official scorer! How in the world was that a walk off single; both Nunez and Beckham should have been hit with a error. Beckham didn't look like a MLB defender that inning. It's amazing how almost nothing is called an error anymore, it drives me crazy.

This has to be the worst defensive team I have ever seen at the MLB level.

The Orioles did superbly to get OF prospect Yusniel Diaz in the Manny Machado deal. Some might say that the outfield is the least of their worries – behind pitching, the infield and a catcher (in that order). But when you have a chance to get a special player, you should go for it. And that is what they did. “A stud,” one scout called Diaz, who homered twice in the Futures Game, which may have cemented this deal …
    — GM Dan Duquette did a very good job with the deal, and it’s interesting to see that he led the trade talk …
    — Zach Pop, also acquired for Machado, has a 0.33 ERA at his latest stop in the Dodgers minors and throws 96-98 mph with sink …

Opinions are like you-know-what, everyone has one.  If you'd listen to "Peanut Reynolds" on MLB last night, the O's should've gotten back someone on the Dodgers' current roster. He thinks that would be something the fans could appreciate more.  This year is a huge write-off, Harold, you build for the future.

What will I do without my Logan Forsythe Orioles jersey, all is not well in Birdland.

Upon his return, on June 22 in Atlanta, Davis homered and drove in two runs. Over the past 10 games, he's hitting .158 with two doubles, two homers, nine RBIs and 13 strikeouts.

"His run production is a lot better, his at-bats have been better," manager Buck Showalter insisted. "They may say comparatively speaking, but if Chris continues at this rate, if you put it over 160 games it's pretty good."

Showalter and the organization can only hope for positive, lasting results.

"Chris has been a good friend of mine," the manager said. "He's got a lot of support from the coaches and his teammates."
