This is the biggest problem in professional sports. You have 2 $150 million teams and fans paying $50 per seat, and the entire event is destroyed by some egotistical moron in blue who obviously couldn't call balls & strikes in a t ball game.

That was the worst strike zone I have seen in a very long time. Chuck Meriwether comes to mind.It feels like every week there is a game where you say to yourself, that was some of the worst umpiring I've ever seen. Then next week comes around and you have another horrible ump behind the plate.

Machado in post game regarding the home run. Their best pitcher against the best hitter. Hell yeah I won that battle, Mano o Mano let's go. I crushed it. We are fighting for our playoff lives. Every game, every at bat, every pitch so important. We have to play very well and fight every game these last 2 weeks or so.
On being hit: you know I know what he's trying to do, you can take the high road and hit me lower half or you take the low road and have no class, be dirty and go head hunting. We know it's dirty, they show no class.

I hate when people say "Well, you are only so many games from a wildcard, so you have to go for it, right?". To me the answer there is and should be "it depends". The O's are just 2 games back of that last wild card spot, BUT:
1.) Toronto is 2 out and just Price and Tulo.
2.) Tampa Bay is 2 out
3.) The Rangers are 4 out and just added Hamels
4.) The Tigers are selling, but are just 3.5 out
There is always a chance that the Astros or Angels fade, but those teams have been upgraded too. I think the Orioles could sneak in to a one game playoff and need to win that game to really make the playoffs.
This team doesn't seem good enough to me, but if they land someone like Cespedes now, I might change my mind. Just don't go half in like last year and deal away good players from a depleted system. Go big or go home.

I know it's a tough series, the Tigers may be the best team in baseball with the best starting rotation in MLB. Baseball is a funny game and it would be nice to have a laugher out of nowhere.

What are the chances the O's have a laugher in their favor vs the Tigers? Hopefully, find a way to get into their bullpen which has always been a weakness.

Tony "can I get a bunch of nametags?"
Me "reach into my pocket only to find 2 nametags" let's just say I should have enough for everyone at pickles and sliders at this time,
even Cole Hamels dude could have gotten a nametag
Tony: "you sure you only have 2 name tags left?"
Me: "there aren't any more left surprisingly"
Tony "really, could you check again?"
Me: stop drinking my beers, reach into my pocket and a pile of nametags magically appear
The life and times of buzzed name tag man, it ain't easy haha.

Been working since 6am, have already driven 120 miles. Work is out of control in a good way.
With that being said, leaving for BMore now. Will get a beer or 2 at pickles. Rocking Chen shirt. Hopefully, will be there around 6pm.

Should Manny have had a triple today? Palmer was letting him have it during the game. Superstars still need to run hard. At least Davis was able to pick him up with the single.
