My number one goal for the WBC: that none of the Orioles players get hurt. Number two goal: that none of our players have a difficult start to the regular season because their spring training routine got disrupted. If those goals are accomplished, Go Team USA!
I feel ya but players can get hurt in spring training too and there’s no way of knowing if going to the WBC is the cause of anybody’s slow start.

Better food, open gates earlier, and I am once again asking for my orioles magazines back

I think after the World Series is the best time, but honestly, if it went away I'd be fine.
To each his own. I love it. Hard to admit on an O’s message board but I’m even more excited for the tournament than I am the start of the big league season lol.

Yeah, the only bright spot is that I am GUESSING (not having looked at actual rosters) that the Israel team will probably not have the talent to compete so they could be eliminated fairly quickly. He may only make one start for them and then be back in camp with us with a few weeks before the season.
Israel made a surprising run to the 2nd round last time. They will have more talent this time but you’re right that they probably won’t last only because they were placed in a group of death with the DR, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela

The timing of the WBC is awful. I'm not fan of it overall, but making it during spring training is ridiculously stupid.
Nobody but die hards in the US really cares about this fake world teams anyways, but when you start messing with teams ability to prepare for the season it really becomes what it is. And that's a moneygrab by MLB.
True that the timing isn’t great but when would be better? Nobody would want their pitchers going to throw extra innings in the middle of the season or after the season either. I wish there was a way to make international baseball as big and as important as the World Cup but its tough to schedule an event like this

So cool. I’m genuinely excited for the WBC this year.
The WBC is awesome. It’s great baseball after a long offseason and it’s so cool to see how the different cultures clash and how into it the fans from other countries get. It’s a great event and anybody who says otherwise, to quote the great Peter McNeely, has a big dump in their pants. Respectfully

Is it Trackman? Having worked with trackman, I can tell you first hand that it’s not perfect unless the tech has gotten better in the last 2 years. It’s very good east to west, not so much north and south.

The much better solution would be for MLB to actually punish/get rid of the umpires everybody knows stinks.
I’m open to allowing a challenge or two but to go totally with a computer calling balls and strikes is wrong to me. Catchers will no longer have to worry about how they receive the ball? Good pitch framers will no longer matter? That’s baseball!

If choosing Frobby means his Cincinnati years are included, then sign me up. I chose Palmer because of the need of pitching. I don't want to see the likes of Adam Eaton and Omar Daal pitching for us again.
I had completely forgotten about that Adam Eaton lol

Got my late father’s co-op under contract yesterday for about 5% under the listing price. It had been on the market about two months and with interest rates still rising, I decided I’d better jump. I’ll be glad to stop paying the monthly co-op fees on an empty apartment.
Congrats Frobby!
Do ya’ll have any quick tips for a new guy like me on ways to find new clients? Haven’t had the best luck calling FSBOs and expireds lately.

Brewers fans want G Rod or Gunnar in the deal lol

I met Tom Browning very briefly a few years ago. Very nice man.
Also, RIP Franco Harris

Being a newbie in this market has been tough lol. Just gotta push through.
A lot of those thousands of realtors mentioned above are going to be driven out of the game.

My mind went immediately to the legend of Lew Ford lmao. Granted he was 35 when he dominated at Norfolk…

How he wasn’t fired at the end of last season is a mystery to me. Or now. He’s awful.
Don’t get me started

I can't believe that Adam Frazier warrants 20 pages in 4 hours.
I love it! This place is jumpin. You should see the Georgetown basketball forum I frequent. Patrick Ewing is turning it into a ghost town compared to this place lol.

Still believe it was an overcorrection, and on top of that it’s just not appeasing to the eye.

Is Jordan Lyles in the dugout?
Curious...after some friction in Jays-Orioles games this year, will you generally be rooting for or against them if they get past Seattle to face NYY or HOU?
Absolutely yes.

Ok that’s a horrible throw by Odor but also should have been an easy short hop pick by Mountcastle

Point taken but guys are most likely hitting the ball much harder today than they were 50 years ago on average. Therefore missing bats is more vital to having success today than it was back then.
I could be wrong.
