  1. If they have that little confidence in Cowser, then they should send him down and recall McKenna or Kjerstad. I get that Hyde wants Adley, Mountcastle, Santander, and O'Hearns bats all in the lineup...but unless Adley is catching it just shouldn't happen.

That seems about right. The 95% catch would be a one star catch which seems about right for that play, even with the wall in consideration (which catch percentage does not account for). He never needed to jump and the ball hit the underside of the mitt. It was a truly terrible play unfortunately in a key moment which is why he can't have inexperience at key positions late in close games.

Too bad he doesn't have enough jumps to provide the breakdown. I can guarantee his route feet per second is going to be really bad.

His route score will probably be very bad. I would guess his ft/second will be at least avg though. That takes his speed into account, basically a reverse santander

I think the bigger question here is whether or not Brown will walk after this year. Angelos seems petty as hell so if I'm Brown I'm sure I'll be getting better offers to work in better conditions.

I don't think it's a question. Unless Angelos shockingly sells the team in the next two months, he will be leaving. At the end of the day the real loser in all of this is us fans

Roch has not kept his job for as long as he had by not knowing when to go quiet in a situation where he has nothing to gain by saying something.

The one thing I do think people forget is we are talking about livelihoods here. Jobs can be at stake if they make the smallest of blunders so why put yourself in a situation that could cost you your gig? It's easy to be at home and writing on social media about what people "should do" but until they have to make a decision that could cost them their job, I'm not sure they are in a position to tell others what they should do.

The one thing PR people and the media have learned is that the public attention can easily be diverted and I believe that's what the Orioles will do. By waiting until August 11th for Brown to come back on the air, they will assume this will have simmered down and if the Orioles are still winning and in 1st no one will be bringing this up.

But they are risking a few things here. IF for some reason the Orioles go into a tailspin, people will bring up this distraction as the cause.

Nothing is going to ever change in how the Orioles are run as an organization administratively as long as an Angelos is involved with owning this team. From Peter's well-documented exploits over the years, the public infighting between the mother/John and Louis, and now the recent exploits and comments made by John Angelos, there is only one constant and that's the last name Angelos.

No slight intended to Roch, people need to earn a living. Just saying if Angelos had a "side" to get out he thought would make him look better, it would have leaked somewhere.

Maybe we aren't talking about this in a week..but look how much we still talk about what happened with Jon Miller. If Brown leaves for another team this offseason (and I would put money on it), I think we might still be talking about this in the same way years from now.

  5. If there was any, even slightly sane, reason for the non-suspension suspension, Roch would have written about it this morning citing "sources" because the Orioles are getting torched. Checked his blog this morning, radio silence. Tells you all you need to know

  6. When he comes in with runners already on, it’s been a disaster. When he comes in at the start of the inning it’s been great. Maybe to small a sample size to call it a pattern, but if I’m Hyde it’s something I’m paying attention to
