I saw the Nicholson/Lange movie when I was probably too young to have seen it. I was 13.

Jessica Lange in her prime was quite the knock out.

GROD just not as sharp tonight...

Maybe not, but if Santander makes a play on a pop up in the first inning for the third out GR would have a shut out.

Get a grip, he absolutely was not mocking him. Was it awkward? Sure. Was it not great tv? Sure. KB was being himself and Ben was being himself, that’s what you get sometimes.

I agree Brown was being himself.

I don't know if he let the pressure get to him defensively, but he has been pretty bad so far at both 3B and even in two games at 1B were not great.

Could he be moved to RF?

Did you hear Kevin asking Ben about his favorite books during Saturdays game?   I think the polite way to describe it would be uncomfortable disaster, and even worse when it became obvious that this was a rotten line of questioning... he just kept going.   We are tuning in to watch the game, please talk about baseball.

That would be the polite way to describe it. Oddly enough, I thought Brown had kept the awkward non-baseball chatter to a minimum so far this year.

He was mocking BM. It wasn’t amusing or cute. His cultural references often seem forced, but his needling was arrogant and pompous.

    I switched broadcasts.

He looked pretty good in both starts but no way do I believe he could be pitching at 96-97 but they told him to only throw at 93.    As @interlopersaid, you’d see some 96 or 97’s when he’s in a tight spot.   The velocity is down but he’s still got 3 or 4 ML pitches and his command has been decent.   Looks like a mid to back end arm to me but who knows.   One thing.  He better learn how to get out of the way when his catcher throws to second.

Oh, I admit he’d be a lot more effective at a higher velocity, but I don’t think he’s getting back to that.

There’s a lot of people here including myself at times who were not sure he’d be more than a bullpen piece. That still may be true over time, but even as a mid to back end arm he’ll provide value.

    Higher velocity is more effective.

I'm rooting for Hall but I question if he'll be more effective at 92 than 97.

He’s pretty effective now at 92-94. He walked two, but he has command of all his pitches. Both his CU and CH have good depth and movement.

Seven of the eight hits allowed (including a bunt base hit) was weak contact and the one hit hard was a ground ball through the 5-6 hole.
