1. Koji-san on to my evil schemes.
 2. I think he's done. They should release him. We can buy "low". :eektf:
 3. I'd say that's in line with someone who started the season late after being on the DL with shoulder soreness and who they are being very careful to build up with innings pitched. His success is a by product of how he is performing.
 4. Anytime you post positive numbers here on Jake don't expect much of a response. I've watched a couple of his starts and he's looked very good.
 5. Arrieta went 6 strong innings tonight. Struck out 7 walked 1 and gave up a solo shot to a torrid Seth Smith in the first. That was it. Four hits including the HR and they pulled him after getting out of the 6th striking out the last batter he faced. They're still trying to build up his innings.
 6. Always thinking about future returns.
 7. Don't go confusing the matter, alright?
 8. Maybe, I would think he considers trading him to a team right now who has a need. His contract is an albatross for a team like Oakland and now he knows he has the depth there. The Angels could use a closer.
 9. He also had a single earlier in the game to drive in one and raised his average to .250 on the year. Maybe Beane gets it. By having one closer and letting that guy accumulate a mountain of saves it does nothing but drive up prices when it comes arbitration time. I'm not sure how it affects Johnson's value going forward if instead of 50 saves he only has, say 20-25. As you say, they seem to be spreading the wealth amongst a few very capable guys. Johnson is also a commodity. I wouldn't put it past Beane to flip him at the deadline to a team in need and restock if one of the other guys has proven himself.
 10. Have you watched the game or even highlights? I get people being upset he didn't do well for us, but he looked good. He commanded all of pitches and never lost command. I don't really know what more you could ask for from a starting pitcher. Of course, for Arrieta the test is doing it over a length of time.
 11. I think he's on a course for ace like status. The revival of the ages. Based on absolutely nothing but my gut. How ya them apples? Wait, wait...ok. It's hot here.
 12. Bedard is looking like a good pick up because of the injury to Matt Moore. Still trying to build up his innings he threw 85 pitches today over six innings and gave up 1 run on 6 hits, SO 3 and walked 1. He may have a little more confidence playing for a perennial contender like TB with a solid defense behind him than he did with a doormat like Houston.
 13. Exactly. Can you imagine when it all comes together?
 14.

How's the golf game? I'm looking at knee replacement and then maybe I'll pick up the clubs again to challenge you after the recovery.

Thx for the rep.

 15. No love for Mark Reynolds this year? His team is in first place but not really sure he has much to do with it. He does have 5 HR but a weak OBP of .280 and his OPS is .740 in 20 games.
 16. Obviously there was no way to predict it. I was going for 4th or 5th starter production out of him until we could get to Gausman without tying up money for the foreseeable future.
 17. Like I said, when I brought it up I was usually met with just the response you're talking about. I don't think he was ever comfortable last year with the knee and who knows why they didn't take it into consideration. Curious, too, because he was a deal that Dan pulled the trigger on initially. I sometimes feel like Dan is the cut bait and run guy. Not that it's a bad thing, but it could be if a guy like Hammel who I consider a competitor and isn't seriously damaged can be effective isn't given the proper consideration. Maybe they didn't like the outlook for even short term medical success. Maybe it wasn't in Dan's hands. We all know what happens to medical decisions around here.
 18. I was really hoping in the off season they would extend an offer to him. I broached the subject a couple times in the off season but it didn't get much traction. He wasn't healthy last year and I thought he would at least be closer to what we saw in 2012 without having us stuck with a long term commitment. He signed for $6 million. That's looking like quite the bargain compared to Ubaldo.
 19.

I like the weather in SoCal, Bob. You can probably guess the rest.

 20.

Ha, thx maybe perhaps because I don't fall in line with some of the more established voices here.

 21.

Thanks again for all your support and hard work on the board.

 22.

Thx, buddy. I always like that you take the time during the season with the line ups. Nice cover of ED on SI. I remember him at SMU when the Mustangs were a force.

 23.

I couldn't play as shallow as Blair did, I wasn't blessed with his speed. I tried though.

 24.

Thanks Michael.
