  1. Yeah, I agree with this. I was going to edit my post to add that I'm probably just spoiled by Mullins. Bradfield would be a great replacement for him defensively but I have the same concerns about his offense as you do.
  2. Doesn't need TJ surgery, at least for now. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/39735360/yankees-gerrit-cole-need-tommy-john-surgery
  3. Not to you specifically, but I hope we have plans to bring the wall in some. I hated the old little league wall and wanted it pushed back some, but imo they went overboard. Somewhere in the middle would be good.
  4. https://awfulannouncing.com/mlb/sportsnet-ben-wagner-toronto-blue-jays-radio-broadcaster-contract-not-renewed.html
  5. I had forgotten about the Rendon contract (7 yrs, 245 mill, 35 mill per, 2020-26) until I happened to see this on ESPN.com while quickly looking for any O's news. In his first four seasons of the contract he hasn't played in more than 58 games in any season. Ouch. What a horrible contract for the Halos. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/39558347/anthony-rendon-baseball-never-top-priority-me
  6. Hands down my favorite Orioles logo ever.
  7. I could hit Jimmy Key. One of my favorite Sports Center Commercials.
  8. This was going to be my exact reply. If they do try to go with hall as a SP, though, I hope I am wrong and will be rooting for him.
  9. I think I read that the collective bargaining agreement requires the team to put aside the present day value of the deferred money in an escrow account. I'm not sure if that limits how the money can be invested.
  10. If I were a GM my offer would be based on him being a position player only, which by itself might be insanely high. If my owners wanted to fork out the money it wouldn't bother me at all. I have never thought he would be able to continue both as a position player and pitcher for any considerable length of time, and I think the times last year when he experienced arm fatigue/soreness and then having a second surgery bear that out. But even without him pitching I would still give him insane money.
  11. I was ready to say...'NO...what the hell are you smoking?', from my memory of his time here before. Had no idea of his recent ERA+, though, so I am at least reconsidering. If we are going to be severely limited budget wise again, sounds like it wouldn't be the worst choice.
  12. Corey Seager is having quite a post-season.
  13. Lol...I yelled out like it was an O's player hitting that. Seager is just a terrific player.
  14. Garcia having a pretty good game.
  15. Very good move by Baker pulling Javier when he did.
  16. I have tried to deal with the disappointment of the O's being knocked out so quickly this post-season, but damn watching the Rangers and their energy tonight makes me remember how fun going deep in the post-season can be.
  17. Nick Castellanos in post game interview on how they beat the Braves..."what I am realizing is that the post season is completely different from the regular season" (or words to that effect). It kind of seems like it.
  18. I'd prefer if Smoltz just said we suck.
  19. Embarassing. Hate to say it, but it is.
