Is it against Hyde's religion to pinch hit for Mullins?
Keep this in the religion thread...

I agree, hearing about Melanie being bad at announcing games every 2 posts does get annoying.
When the O's play on the east coast, I usually listen to the first couple innings on MLB radio driving home before switching to TV once I get home. Melanie is 1,000x better than Geoff Arnold. Geoff doesn't have the gaffs like Melanie, but damn he is annoying.

Well, you can rule out Cedric and O’Hearn, who throw left handed.

This poll is kind of dumb but it’s not surprising. If I had read the OP first I wouldn’t have voted.
Why not? If Adley and McCann go down, we all know Hyde is going to check OH to see who he should plug in. Your vote matters.

To continue the trend of puzzling polls, which of our position player would be the best catcher?

I respectfully think that is a terrible idea. We have a logjam of prospects in AAA. Thin the herd by trading some for an elite bullpen arm.

I hear he has a photoshoot with GQ scheduled for right after the game. Probably too focused on that.

What a ballsy performance by Cano tonight. Came in with runners on first and third and only one out, sitting on a one-run lead. Overcame a missed strike three call to the first batter he faced, then got the next two one a strike out and routine pop fly to LF. He’s got ice water in his veins.
That was huge. His stuff didn't look quite at it's best, but he made up for it by pitching very smart.

Death to click-baity titles and stupid trade proposals. Offenders should be fined and proceeds go to Mo Gaba's family.

I want to say to that probably the 5 players behind Cal on the streak list did things to basically cheat and prolong their streak especially Gehrig, where he would hit once and then not play the rest of the game.
Gehrig also rode on trains during road trips and sports medicine didn't really exist.

I don't think it's possible now with the way teams place value on players getting the occasional rest day. I don't see any future player even coming close to challenging Cal's consecutive games played record.
Gunnar is going to break Cal's streak....

People do need to realize that the season used to start much later than it now does. Frank Robinson hit 38 homers as a 20-year old rookie, but the season didn’t even start until April 17. I’d bet there are some other players 22 or younger who hit 10 homers in the first 29 games of the year, but the 29 games weren’t played by April 30.
Hey now, the MLB is finally actually trying to promote their young stars. Let them cherry pick whatever stats they want.

I'm far from a swing expert, but I really feel that swing is going to translate incredibly well to big league pitching. His hands are quick as hell, compact when slapping gappers, and extends just enough when he launches missiles out of AAA stadiums. You don't see that with big guys often.

I think we'll look back on DR's purchasing of the team as the most important moment in franchise history.
Sure, the opening of Camden Yards, The Streak, the dominant teams in the 70's, hiring of Elias, etc, are all up there...but ever since the Nats move to DC and stole a significant portion of our fanbase and revenue, we've desperately needed an ownership group that brings energy and is willing to spend money (jury is still out on the latter, but all indications are that DR intends to spend).
