Now, if you want to argue that even 180,000 deaths isn’t that big in the grand scheme of things, and that it’s not that dangerous for people without risk factors, that’s a debatable position. But it’s not analogous to flu even if biologically related to a degree.
Which means it doesn't matter what we do. When your number is up...game over.

I haven't been to the 'Yards' since they first opened. It was against the Brewers. O's lost. Go figure. But, I know one thing for sure. The first player, or team, that kneels during the anthem, or wears some sort of emblem concerning a particular group, will be the last time I watch baseball. I was an NFL fan for 40+ years. Haven't watched a game in 4 years. Sports is meant to be an escape from life's problems. I will not listen to a bunch of multimillionaire players whine like Lebron James.

Not a complete game, but Rich Hill from the Dodgers (2016) had a perfect game thru 7 and manager Dave Roberts pulled him.

I don't care if they play at all at this point. The weather is nice and mowing the lawn is fun again.

There's a suspension of disbelief involved with being a fan - just like being entertained by watching a movie. We obviously know that Jurassic Park isn't a real thing, but that doesn't stop us from being thrilled, scared, and emotionally moved when the T Rex breaks out of its cage and tries to eat the kids in the car. With being a baseball fan, there's a similar suspension of disbelief - we buy expensive hats and jerseys to feel part of the team's success even though we contribute absolutely nothing in the field of play, we can vilify other teams like the Yankees and Red Sox even though they are made up of innocent twenty-something kids, we can forget that we're paying large portions of our modest paycheck to watch millionaires throw a ball around.
That suspension of disbelief is a pretty fragile thing and is rather fleeting. Our ability to enjoy a movie can quickly die if an actor is exposed as being a not-so-great person. No one is listening to R Kelly anymore. People boycott restaurants or stores if it is discovered that they are donating to a backward political cause. Our ability to be a diehard fan can be affected in a similar way.

But I would say I watch on average 100 full games of baseball a year on tv(I dont live close to a professional stadium and I hate going to rookie league games because they are a sloppy mess). I am 39, so I guess I am getting old. My wife probably watches 50 or so games a year and she is definitely old, 36.
Time to dump her and get a 35 year old.

Main reason, that I see, is that volunteers don't want to deal with parents, especially fathers, who are trying to live their pathetic lives thru their kids and cause problems at every game. And then, those kids mouth off to the adults cause they see their parents do it and it becomes ingrained in their tiny brains that it's alright. No discipline from top to bottom.
