You guys have excellent memories - I had to look it up! It was game 2 of the 1973 ALCS, won 6-3 by the A’s. Per The NY Times:
With Joe Rudi on first, Bando lashed a high drive to left field that appeared on its way out of Memorial Stadium. But Al Bumbry, the 5‐foot‐8‐inch Oriole “hummingbird,” leaped and stuck his glove above the seven‐foot‐high fence to make the catch.
“That just made me more determined,” said Bando, sipping a can of soda in the Oakland dressing room. “I told my roommate, Gene Tenace, I was going to hit one next time they won't catch.”He did. It was a rising drive high into the left‐field stands in the sixth. This time, Bumbry just stood with his hands on his hips, watching the ball disappear.
I never saw the game cause it was back in the days where they actually played playoff games during the day cause tv ratings wasn't at the top of the list. I never got home from school until the final 1 or 2 innings. But, I do remember seeing the picture in the paper the next day showing Bumbry catching the ball with a huge smile on his face.

I am excited about this too, but I hope ESPN will air these games during normal waking hours. I can't stay up all night watching KBO games no matter how starved I am for sports.
There is a game at 630 am.
Chinatrust Brothers vs.Uni Lions.
It should be showing on http://livetv.sx/enx/allupcoming/ , tomorrow, but it is an unsecured site, proceed at your own risk. I have never had a problem. YMMV. And if you're that desperate, this site also shows past games.
Tony, if links like this are not allowed, remove it.

It's honestly fairly sad that I'm looking forward to this. Then again, I found two ants yesterday in my house, put them both in a bowl and watched to see who would get out first. So yeah, this lack of competition to watch is getting bad!
Where's the payout? I had $20 on the black one.

I don’t know if I’d say Coggins was thought to have a brighter future than Bumbry. Both were drafted in 1968, Bumbry in the 11th round out of college, Coggins in the 21st round as a 17-year old high schooler.
Their minor league careers took very different paths. Bumbry didn’t play the year he was drafted and played only 35 games in 1969 before going off to Vietnam, not returning until mid-1971. Coggins, meanwhile, played 68 games in 1968, 98 in 1969, and 129 games in 1970. He was very young at every level, splitting his age 19 season between AA and AAA.
In ‘72, Bumbry rocketed through the upper minors, posting a .900+ OPS in both AA and AAA and in a brief call-up to end the season. Altogether, Bumbry played only 235 games in the minors, posting a .918 OPS along the way. Coggins spent all of 1971-72 at Rochester, posting an .809 OPS there, and also got a late ‘72 call-up in which he posted a .786 OPS and actually played a bit more than Bumbry. Coggins was a lot younger than Bumbry when he reached the majors, but he also had a lot more minor league experience (526 games to Bumbry’s 235) due to Bumbry’s combat service.
They were both terrific in 1973.
Is that the year Bumbry took a home run away from an A (Joe Rudi, maybe?) in the playoffs?

Thanks, I wasn't alive at the time and was taking a guess based on the statistics. It just seems odd with the Orioles being a juggernaut at the time that Belanger would bat at the top of the lineup.
I recall Davey Johnson tried to make a case to Earl that he should be batting second, and had computer analysis to backup his opinion and Earl threw it right into the trash.
I wonder if it was this kind of computer.

And 17 years before this game, on this day in 1953, my parents were married.

Not a cook by any means, but, yesterday, I got some stew beef, added peas, carrots, and onions, added some kind of gravy mix and cooked for 8 hours. Smelled, looked, and quick tasted, great. What did I do? Ordered Olive Garden. Must be a single guy thing?

You are a clown. Plain and simple.
Because I dont agree with your assine ideas and theories.
To call me a misogynist is so GD Offensive its ridiculous.
Report away all you want. Since none of the mods have ever smacked my hands for any of that you reported, then maybe your viewpoint is off-kiltered.
I bet if Tony released the metrics, more people have you on ignored, than probably any poster on OH, because of what you post.
I feel really sorry for you, I really do. I cant even begin to image what you are like in real life.
This should sum him up.

Even Disney is trying to figure out, do we try and open, up just stay closed for 2020.
I think NASCAR kicks back up this week, with no fans in attendance.
A friend of mine races in the truck series and he told me they will be racing again soon with no fans. He also said to me that is no big deal cause no one ever goes to the truck races.

I can not speak as an informed source.
Perception to me, they have one of the richest owners in MLB, and its almost like he runs the team on a shoestring budget, never keeping home grown talent and rewarding them, but replacing them with younger and cheaper ones.
Yes, their attendance sucks.
Yes, their stadium sucks.
I suspect they would have problems in a new stadium and $5 tickets,
I know of one way they could get rid of that stadium. Unfortunately, it doesn't snow there, unlike in Minnesota.

Ive come to the simple conclusion, these dump nuts just can not drive. 20 miles under, or 20 miles over, they dont even try to do the speed limit. Cant stay in their lane because they cant put down their phones. Light turns green, they stay sitting at the light, as they are on their phones.
In my experiences with the school zone speed limit, it was mainly the older set who have their masks on up to the middle of their eyes and can barely see over the steering wheel.

Don't know which would happen first if I did that solo. Either my thumb would cramp up from holding the pick or my pinky would fall off from slapping at the neck.

Finally got an update from the IRS about being able to put in info. Entered what they needed. Not feeling my best cause I've never had to take charity before. But, since it's costing me $16500 in future taxes to get $1200, I think I should be grateful.

Yes, there was. But most was on VHS. And I couldn't afford both a VHS player and Betamax at the same time, so I had to go from memory.
