    The rotation to date:

    Conroy 8 G, 41.0 IP, 2.41 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 8.8 K/9

    Magee 7 G, 28.2 IP, 3.77 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 8.5 K/9

    Litscher 7 G, 36.1 IP, 2.23 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 10.7 K/9

    Stauffer* 5 G, 25.1 IP, 1.07 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, 10.3 K/9

    Rodriguez 8 G, 43.0 IP, 1.67 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 10.5 K/9

    * Stauffer was promoted to Delmarva.   Dan Hammer and Houston Roth are alternating piggyback starts in his place.   In 3 games, they have combined for 14.1 IP, 0.00 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 11.9 K/9.

    Litscher has also been promoted

  2. It is very interesting that there still hasn't been a pick up in number of trades happening. I am assuming it's because so many teams are still looking for clarity on whether they will be buyers or sellers, but even this doesn't make much sense to me. If you're trying to hold out and determine your identity on your performance in the last 10 days leading up to the trade deadline, why not go ahead and make that trade to help give yourself the advantage to win those 10 days while others are still holding out.

  3. Someone pointed out in the draft thread that Craig lewis, was is hitting over .400 in GCL, just got the promotion to aberdeen. I am hoping this means a corresponding promotion for Mr. Rizer!

  4. So obviously this guy has the hand eye coordination to dominate lower minors pitching. Looking at him, I definitely think he has room to add more muscle to his frame and possibly turn that Batting average into a legitimate stud hitting profile.

Why would you trade Hanser for a 17-18 year old player. Let him develop ... learn to work some counts.

Hes young, cheap, and under control for years.

Not a move I would make for next to nothing!

In terms of our rebuild, he's not young. Hes' 26 and will turn 27 in October. He will not be on the next playoff team.

The question is: Is Baumann now in the GrayRod, Hall group or is he still in the Akin, Lowther, Kremer, Wells group?

Give me one more stud performance like the one last night and he'd for sure be in the GrayRod, Hall group for me.

  7. I like the DSL 1 team's outfield. Prado, Acevedo, Bellony all 17 batting 1,2,3 for the team today. Prado is 2 for 3 and Bellony is 3 for 4 so far today.

Prado's average is up to .315, gotta figure we'll see him in GCL next year

  8. Looking at the current roster distribution throughout the minor league system. Both GCL and Aberdeen are drowning in pitching depth from our recent draft allocation. I think the Orioles are looking for pieces in return that don't have to be added to the 40-man so you're looking for younger prospects. Maybe you could get a pitching prospect in return and stick them in delmarva  but there's gonna be a certain sweetspot in age range for that. I think we could add a bat or two at any level. And of course, the orioles will take any DSL guy given to them regardless of position.

  9. Is it possible that a contending team would give up one DSL lottery ticket player for Hanser Alberto? I know his OBP is almost identical to his AVG but if I was looking for a guy to come off the bench and get a timely hit, Hanser could do that well and be that Utility guy off the bench.

Would Elias trade Hanser for just one DSL lottery ticket?

  10. So the two guys the orioles got back in the cashner trade have to be on the new list of 25 DSL prospects to watch. I would also assume that the Prado kid has to be our top DSL prospect right now based on his age and performance.

  11. Good article on Brenan's develop this year. Articles states that Brenan was able to dominate last year using almost exclusively a sinker/sinking fastball that current frederick coach called "un-hittable at times"

However, Brenan knew he wasn't going to just be able to rely on that one pitch higher up in the minors or major league, so this season has been about developing his change up and slider to go along with that sinker, and how he's starting to see fruit from his early season woes.

Really good article, he'll definitely be one to watch the next few years
