  1. And that's what makes it twice as bad since neither of them can figure out how to help these guys.
  2. In my opinion this lack of hitting all rest on the shoulders of the hitting coach. I understand the coach is not hitting but I have never seen a team swing and miss with the frequency the entire team is doing now. Some of these guys look like they don't have a clue and it's on the hitting coach to get them to a point where they do have a clue. If nothing else spend an entire batting practice bunting. At least then they are watching the ball off the bat.
  3. OK but what are they referring to by banning the shift? Is that going to include moving your 1st and 3rd basemen in on a bunt? How far are you going to be able to " shift " your outfield around depending on whether you want to cut the power alley down? Are they going to put a 6ft circle on the field at each position and all the players have to be in that Circle before every pitch?
  4. Anyone think that MLB could resort to replacement players again like in one of the previous strikes???
  5. If that is the case then why are we even talking about a minimum salary cap to prevent teams from "tanking"?? As much as you say " spending doesn't guarantee success" it does help with being competitive and in turn generating $$$ for the organization. And isn't that what this entire mess is all about???
  6. Why can't MLB and the players agree to a " hard salary cap " like other professional sports and also implement a " hard minimum salary cap " ? As it stands now this system is without a doubt geared for your big marketing teams that have no realistic deterrent from spending far more than your smaller market teams. Let's get some competitive balance back in baseball and not have it determined by how big your pockets are.
  7. With regards to tanking I agree that every team should be required to have a minimum salary cap. I also believe there should be a firm salary cap at the top. It does no good to have the cap as it is now when some teams don't care and are willing to pay the luxury tay. Now as far as the 1st draft picks the only way you'll truly fix that is to go back to a balanced schedule again. That way you have everyone playing on an even field.
