  1. I can understand that your young players are blocked so you want to move current mlb players, but Mullins is a stud, IMO. You're basically hoping that Cowser turns into what Mullins is now. Plus the defense would take a drop if you do move him. If the Marlins didn't have multiple holes to fill offensively, I'd do Mullins for Lopez no questions asked. I understand the team control argument as well, but I admit, I am a bit surprised at the willingness to move an all star CF before a guy who is struggling at AAA at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the potential of Cowser, but its just that...potential. You have tangible evidence with Mullins. Additionally, I actually don't think you guys are THAT far away. You need another power bat in the outfield, and I still think you have a hole at second, which you probably plan to fill internally with Ortiz, Vavra, and/or Norby. The pitching we can probably help you out with (Pablo) and depending on the return, perhaps we could provide another controllable starting arm.
  2. I like Eder a lot. Some may not agree on here, but I think he is equal to DL Hall. If not for TJ surgery, he would be a top 100 prospect. So It would have to be mateo and someone else. Mateo and Norby for Eder, yes.
  3. Nah. Hays and Westburg yes. Mateo and Hays no. The difference is Westburg's bat. Marlins need offense and power.
  4. Just because I'm me, to all Os fans, what would it take from the marlins' perspective to get Cowser?
  5. Westburg and Haskin or Prieto for Lopez? You do that deal?
  6. So it's either or? Mullins straight up for Lopez or Westburg straight up for Lopez. Say I took the Westburg path, would you include an additional bat with Westburg for Lopez?
  7. What deal are you referring to? Honestly, Jazz and Rojas was tossed in to "spice" up the deal to acquire more. If Lopez is the only target for you guys, Mullins and Westburg is good. I like Mateo, I'm just not sure if this isn't a one year anomaly. I like the speed and glove but his month of September with the bat has been kinda meh. The marlins need hitting at certain positions of need i.e. CF and SS. For the record, I don't want to trade Jazz but there were only two names that the marlins FO said were untouchable and Jazz wasn't one of them, to my surprise. Jazz is a piece that I thought could entice more of a return. But if there was someone else the orioles would covet, I'm all ears. It doesn't have to be an infielder.
  8. That was my thought too as an outsider. I asked why everyone was so willing to move Mullins when I don't think you have great CF depth behind him. That said, if you all were to do Mullins and Westburg for Lopez and Rojas, we could do the deal, imo.
  9. Santander is probably a non starter because we already have power bat corner outfielders with limited defensive skills (soler and garcia). Our biggest needs are centerfielder and shortstop. Mateo would be a nice start but we definitely need more. Probably Mateo, Westburg, and a Beavers? Or..Mullins and Westburg.
  10. That's a deal I believe the marlins could do. For the record, I love Jazz and am opposed to trading him personally, but the marlins front office seem to not like his "flashy" style of play. Hence, they seem willing to move him for the right price. If the deal is Jazz, Pablo, and Eder for Cowser, Westburg, and Mateo, do O fans go for that deal? As a Marlins fan, it seems fair. Probably a little too fair. Our second best pitcher, a young lefty who is a top 10 prospect in our system, and our best everyday player and an all-star. I almost feel like we would be giving up too much in the deal.
  11. Thanks for the welcome. As far your trade proposal, Mullins and Norby for Pablo Lopez and Jake Eder or Dax Fulton (one of but not both) could possibly work. The issue is, while I like Norby, he is exclusively a second baseman. The marlins are deficienct at shortstop. Therefore, if you guys gave westburg instead, that would be more enticing. Speaking for me personally, I like big trades. I'm not a one for one, or two for two type of trade guy. I like deals similar to the juan soto deal. Maximize your value by adding more to the pot. Hence, why I said I would go with Chisolm and Lopez and maybe a young pitching arm like Eder for a Cowser, Westburg, and Mateo/urias. You guys get an all star second baseman with years of control left to pair with Gunnar an arm now (Lopez) and for the future (Eder). Meanwhile, we get Mateo or Urias, who is slick defensively, especially Mateo; Cowser, who for the next few years at least, resolves our center field problems; and Westburg, who can hit the ball (something the marlins seem unable to do).
  12. Thank you for the warm welcome. As for Cole and Tanner.... Both were somewhat disappointing this year. I guess Sulser was poor but Tanner Scott was given every opportunity to win the closer role and was abysmal. Even the few he was successful in saving was an adventure when he was called in. The Bullpen will need to be addressed in the offseason. Bullpen is a weakness but because we are so offensively inept, it gets lost how putrid the pen is.
  13. We are the ideal trade partner. We help solve each other's problems.
  14. So if I am hearing correctly, Cowser and Westburg are untouchable or just Cowser? From the marlins side, if they are both attainable, what would be the cost for Cowser? I do believe we have the arms to make anything happen.
  15. This trade would intrigue me. Just out of curiosity to all O fans, why are you so willing to move Mullins? I think he is a top 10 center fielder in the MLB. While I love Cowser and his potential, I'm not necessarily sure he projects as a long term center field prospect. His struggles at AAA also concern me a tad. One of the reasons, I asked for Cowser as opposed to Mullins in my hypothetical trade is that I figured you all would be more willing to part with what may be (Cowser) as opposed to a sure and proven thing (Mullins). Either way, if you all did Mullins, Westburg, and Ortiz for Lopez, Eder, and McCambley, we could do business together I think.
  16. I think you misunderstood. I meant 10 pitchers from the big leagues to rookie ball. I like Alcantara, Lopez ,Luzardo, Rogers, Eury Perez, Max Meyer, Dax Fulton, Braxton Garrett, Edward Cabrera, and probably Sixto Sanchez (if he stops being lazy) more than Hall. I like Jake Eder too but he is mostly unproven and is coming back from tommy john surgery, so I would not put him over Hall. Of those names, only Perez, Meyer, and Fulton are not proven to some degree at the big league level as starters. Perez and Meyer are higher rated prospects than Hall. I love Fulton more than Hall (personal preference). Pitching development is what we do best. It's the ONLY thing we do somewhat well. You guys are all about offense. Your farm system is built on bats, and I agree wholeheartedly that is second to none. Based on the young bats, you have the top farm system in baseball. Hence, as a Marlins fans, it makes the most sense to trade with you guys. We have the arms and you guys have the bats.
  17. That's cool. I'm just saying as a fan of another team that has a plethora of arms, Hall wouldn't be in our top 10 of pitchers in our organization. I think he could turn into a nice lefty specialist/Bullpen guy. Needs to get proper development with the control issues he has. He kind of reminds me of what Braxton Garrett was before this year. Hall could turn into a good number four, but he is not going to be an Ace, imo.
  18. From an outsider's perspective, I agree. I get he is a lefty that throws 95, but other than that, I don't know why you guys are so high on him, or his prospect ranking. I think he tremendously overrated. I do like Rodriguez though.
  19. LOL. I mean it's not terrible from the marlins perspective. I'd prefer cowser and Westburg though. I'd give Lopez and maybe a Braxton Garrett for that. Two mlb starting pitchers for two talented but unproven prospects at the big league level. Seems fair to me.
  20. I'd be open to trading Lopez and Miguel Rojas for Mullins.
