It’s possible this team just isn’t very good. I know we have high expectations but our bullpen is really bad and our bats aren’t what we thought.
I actually don’t think that’s possible. It’s definitely possible they won’t win as many games as last year, but they are a good team. They could easily be at least 7-2 right now, and all three teams they have played have winning records.

We just dont have the bullpen pieces. We cant close games. Bautista's injury hurts us so much.
Yeah, he covered up for a lot last year. I still think this is a much better team than last year overall, but they way overachieved in close games. They were bound to come back to earth anyway, but losing Felix makes it much worse.

One of the biggest improvements from two years ago to last year was that McCann made them viable during these series-ending day games where Adley doesn’t catch (in which they were horrible in 2022).
Hopefully they can still come back in this one, but also I really hope that it’s an aberration and not a sign if they don’t.

Kremer is missing spots by a foot. Grayson did the same thing. Literally the two worst starts back to back all season. And the Rangers are not missing the mistakes, which are many.
I made a comment about the bye week the other day and got jumped on because the offense was bad at the end of the season, too, which is fair…but G-Rod and Kremer were rolling to end the season and needed to keep in the groove.

Texas is unreal. Impossible to pitch to this lineup
I’m sure someone else will figure out how to do it.

All the pitchers for both teams have done a good job getting to two strikes. What happens after that has been the difference in the series.

Obviously, this sucks, but after the way they finished I expect them to win game 3. Probably not the series, but at least one.
Part of me wonders if playing at home with that crazy crowd is actually worse for them at this point.

So: after seeing what it takes to win in the post session, what are our glaring needs?
Mine:
Bullpen help (at least 3 new guys that can pitch and throw strikes)
A new centerfielder. I love Mullins, but I think it is time to move on from Mullins. I don't think Hicks or Hays are the guy for that. I also don't think anyone in the minors is ready to take over full time starting duties in center. I think we need to find someone that can hit and get on base at a higher clip than Mullins in free agency.
A third baseman that can hit to replace Urias. Someone that brings some power from the right side of the plate. Urias needs to go.
Another starting pitcher
Another power hitting right handed bat that can DH and play a corner outfield position on occasion
I used to think we could fill these roles with guys in our system, but now I'm not sure.
I dunno. I kind of wonder if Mullins has never really been healthy the second half of this year. I think he’s more than good enough if we can get him right again.
Maybe Holliday is the long term answer for leading off?And then you have Holliday play short and Henderson at third.

I didn't publicly but I called it after yesterday. They are red hot and everything about this team is crapola right now.
The Astros got bounced after their rebuild before they won (I mean cheated) to win the WS in 2017. Lots of work to do in the off-season
I expected 85-ish wins from this team this year, so I’ll take this as a jumping off point, but it still sucks to watch.

Not subscribing to Fox. Did Mateo really have a play at the plate?
If he had gotten it out of his glove quickly, yes. He bobbled it and had to go to first.

Is Tyler Wells your opening day closer next season?

He's not hitting.
Neither is Mounty against right handers.

Man, I hope they don't PH O'Hearn for Mounty. The mojo is long gone.
I mean it’s easy to say now, but I would have 100% put O’Hearn out there against a righty.

How does he not score on that?
Yeah, I really don’t understand holding him there. With less than 2 outs, maybe.

Bradish gave up 2 runs.
GRod didn’t help but it was “just” 5 runs. You can come back from that. It’s hard to come back from 10.
There has been lots of bad pitching to go around today, but Baker should not have been anywhere near this roster, let alone in this game. I’d rather have Fuji than him.

The Os pitchers struck out 16 batters yesterday.
Well….yeah, I guess they did. lol.

This is the problem against a team like this - same issue as against the Guardians. Not enough pitchers that can get strikeouts.

Another benefit that robotic umpiring would bring is this extremely annoying “skill/art” of so called framing. What other sport institutionalizes trying to fool the umpire/referee? Try to do that with a GPS system
Did you really just ask if people try to fool the officials in other sports??

Send Adley to 2nd. Heim won't dare throw
If we were down two I might agree with you.

Mateo is our best player today. What is life?

The bye week can go **** itself.

Seattle?

This is miserable.

These guys are a more talented version of the Guardians.

If that’s true then we’ll be fine, because more bats are on the way.
