I’m just gonna assume the weather is to blame for a lot of our crummy defense this series because we never look this bad.
All I know is I’m very glad we’re done with this place after today.

NO, "You cant win em all"....but the way the Rays keep winning we cant afford to lose ANY game....this is so frustrating...and we've won the first 2 games...but we may lose a game in the standings today...i
The Rays are 6-4 in their last 10 games and we were only up 1.5 not that long ago. Unfortunately they just got 4 games against a Seattle team that is 3-7 in their last 10.

You are a complete idiot. That is a double 99% of the time. How often does a ball bounce right into a 2nd defenders glove.
You seem like a friendly human.

Yeah, why is he playing the guy who is 2-2 and the reason we had a 3-0 lead?
you stupid, or something?
Second one didn’t do much good when he ran himself into the stupidest out of the day, did it?

Westburg must be hurt. No way Hyde is dumb enough to have Urias and Frazier both in there otherwise.
-
Grayson hasn’t been great but he should be up 3-1 right now.
-
This is hard to watch.

dammit.this is chronic...gets the second out and cant finish...Ive seen this before from him...and now the pitch count is really high
No way you can put that on Grayson. This defense makes that play 99 times out of 100 this year.

The darn Rays have had no trouble with Seattle, they lead 5-3.
Seattle went cold about a week ago. Exactly the wrong time for us.

ADLEY can’t pick up Urias. Alright Grod, let’s get a shutdown inning.
I would really like to be able to move him back down to 2 or 3, but I’m not sure Mullins (or anyone else) is ready to replace his production at lead off.
Unless maybe it would make more sense to have Henderson there? At least he has some speed.

Velo down. Let’s see if gets better as day goes on.
If I remember right, it was down early in his past start, too, but came back a little later in the game.

It's just hard to see a 23-hit nine-inning game period. That's 3.55 hits each inning, every inning.
I think your math is wrong.

Where is Irvin? All these lefties
Probably getting ready for his next start in place of Flaherty.

This is maybe the first time since we lost him that I’ve really felt that we are truly missing Bautista.

Unbelievable.

How did we watch baseball when it used to take this long all the time?

Not Santander, Frazier, O'Hearn (or Cowser).
Santander and O’Hearn would have gotten to it while looking as uncomfortable as possible. You’re right about Cowser, though - that guy is the king of letting balls that he should catch drop in front of him.
-
Between the game itself and the rain delay, these guys have to feel like they’ve been at the park for a week.

Mullins catches that.
Every other outfielder we have catches that.

Webb has nothing tonight he gets the next hitter out or you pull him.
1 minute ago, baltfan said:Webb has struggled a bit as of late.
I feel like he appeared in 79 straight games after we brought him on, so it’s not really surprising.

The good thing is this isn't a lineup of hackers. I loved the 2012 to 2016 team, but they were pretty boom or bust offense. Those Orioles either hit home runs or struggled to score runs.
The 2023 Orioles offense is very dynamic with a deep bench of hitters.
100%. That team was so frustrating to watch sometimes. A few weeks back, they had Adam Jones on the telecast, they were talking about how high his chase rate was, and I was cringing.

Only headcase would make political comments when his job was to throw a baseball.
Be bland and collect your paycheck.
Everyone has a job. Does that mean no one should ever share their opinions?
Maybe the fans should stop being headcases and judge him based on his performance.

It might be my imagination because I’m not a Flaherty fan, but watching the other players in the dugout when he starts struggling, it doesn’t really seem like they have any affection for him as a teammate.

And we gained ground on Tampa during that stretch. We all would have gladly taken that before the trip started.
