  1. lol. Big credit for using Veeck and Rubenstein in the same sentence. This group has one goal. And that’s to win a World Series. The resources are there - but one shouldn’t expect to be blown away by spending in the first 60 days of ownership.
  2. I too think he’ll be fine and continue to contribute but I just don’t understand why he was used tonight. Bullpen had to cover a mere 2 innings. Why have him go back to back unless absolutely necessary?? Im guessing Hyde learned something tonight.
  3. It’s still a beast. It’s just perspectives have changed since we are one of the “beast” teams.
  4. They been doing this. I’ve watched a few of the bullpens and the starters are all hanging around.
  5. Have to assume it’s load management more than anything. I’m looking for clues like - we hope he’s back at the end of the 15 day period.
  6. Actual finance people watch Bloomberg, not CNBC or Fox business
  7. 23k tonight. Against the Yankees but last year didn’t have a night-weekday game above 20k until June 28th (as far as I could see). We played the Red Sox end of April last year and had around 13k. the other thing I’ve noticed is when they say 23k attended. It actually looks like 23k. Not a lot of no-shows this year. People are starting to prioritize attending games. Finally - avg attendance is 24k (prior to tonight). If you ignored the KC - poor weather fiasco we would avg 27,499. That would put total attendance right at 2.23 million.
  8. A one off game in April doesn’t matter. His performance over the course of the season certainly does. odd you found it so uninteresting you were compelled to respond.
  9. Yeah. It’s called baseball. The point is the Orioles are plenty capable of winning games their defacto aces aren’t starting.
  10. Sometimes you just lay an egg. Luckily the team is talented enough that nights like this can be absorbed.
  11. Wild that a Twins series could be up 26% over the Red Sox Series at any point year over year. Imagine telling that to someone 15 years ago.
  12. 18k for an April Tuesday is really good. Numbers like that signal 4K more/game over last year which would put attendance closer to 2.3mm for the year. To get to 2.5 million need to really start seeing 20k+ for midweek games.
  13. The hacks they were taking seemed reminiscent of some of the Blue Jays swings from about 10yrs ago. When we threw down multiple signs without men on base……..
  14. Agreed. Urias isn’t going anywhere until the end of May, but doesn’t mean they don’t adjust his role in the meantime.
  15. Elias has a bit of cover to go ahead with Holliday given Urias is terrible at the plate right now
