  1. The FCL, Delmarva, and even Aberdeen, are always going to have “bad” records until we get the DSL pipeline fully going into top 5-10 mode. I have faith in Perez. We don’t draft HS kids and the college players that are good are pretty much in Aberdeen right away.
  2. The velo will pick up when the weather does. It’s a lot different pitching in the mid Atlantic in rainy April /May versus Florida in the dog days of summer with humidity. He’ll be alright. Looks good so far.
  3. It’s pretty crazy to think that once the weather gets to 85+ daily that we might have a legit MLB MOO in the minors in Mayo and Basallo. Not just #6-#9 types. That’s liftoff 2024 style.
  4. Wow, I’m surprised Beavers was all the way on page three. Through 252 PA in AA he has an .885 OPS. He’s playing some CF too. He’ll be in the mix to replace Santa, and Hays if we move on, for OD. If Beavers survives the deadline. If Mayo, Holliday, and Basallo, are untouchable, and Norby/Stowers/Kjerstad have more value to us, then Beavers will be the name teams could target. Beavers and Povich.
  5. Yup. This is exactly what I was think. Everyone was so down on Cowser then once he got to Bowie his numbers came up. Even Gunnar’s magical year, he had his lowest numbers in Aberdeen. EBJ will be ok and will be in Bowie for the 2nd half of the season. The expectations of how fast he would move were too high. It’s looking like we’ll probably just let Mullins play out his contract like Santa. So that means EBJ’s timeline is just fine, May - June 24’ - Aberdeen July - Sept 24’ - Bowie ST 25’ - one of the last cuts OD 25’ - Norfolk OD 26’ - Baltimore
  6. I don’t see how Norby could be worse than Kjerstad in COF. Therefore, with all our LHH, he will be a bench platoon player. Notice how our bench players are already RH because of the amount of lefties? McCann, Mateo, Urias, and McKenna. Norby will just replace one of them next year or he an up/down guy. Having three options, being RH, being cheap, and being able to stand at COF/2B, is more valuable than what he would bring back in a trade. Reubilding teams want to take a shot on guys that can be everyday players. Norby is a role player for contending teams like us.
  7. Converted position player that barely pitched in HS and NCAA. I mean barely. He’s been hurt his whole pro career. Does he need innings to develop or should we just put him in his most likely role as a reliever and see what we have? It’s only May, and there’s no role for him this year at the MLB level, but considering he’s on an innings limit, he’ll be transitioned to a reliever at some point. Pitch labs are fun, but he’s on the 40 man. It’s not a big deal right now, but this offseason it could be.
  8. If the giants fall out of if then side armer RH Tyler Rogers could be an option. Not just a rental either. We’d have him through next year. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/rogerty01.shtml The Giants need offense as always. Norby?
  9. I’m glad we miss Mackenzie Gore.
  10. If Mayo can play an average 3B he should be here in mid June. There’s a role for him. Might as well get the service clock benefits while Mateo is playing well. The flip side is… is if we score more runs then we play less close/save situation games. So we could bludgeon teams.
  11. Even if he cleared waivers he’d be on the same tier of Baker, Vespi, and Tate, as AAA depth.
  12. If we move on from Baumann right now, I’d like to see us rotate fresh arms of Baker, Tate, and Vespi. With Krook, Ort, and Heasley being on the next tier. This won’t solve our Kimbrel problem but then we won’t have to trade for a 2nd reliever along the way like a Kopech, Scott, or Puk.
  13. I think Elias is going to let the pitching shake out. Baumann isn’t all that important because he could easily and rightfully be replaced by the shuttle. The question comes what do we have after it all shakes out and who is available. I dont think Kopech, Puk, or Scott, is the move right now. We shall see. But things change fast.
  14. Kopech, AJ Puk, and Tanner Scott, are probably available now. With Suarez in the pen now, I don't think we need two relievers. Just one. That one guy should be a closer at the deadline depending on what's available.
  15. Doesn't make sense. Grayson is going to be a CYA favorite while he's under team control. This would be a terrible use of resources.
