  1. For sure. Didn't impress in AZFL this year either. He has some tools and at 23 and now avg. age for league he could continue to slowly improve. I don't think he will make an impact, but he has some tools to work with.
  2. He gets slept on a little bit. Had top 10 AVG EV in all minors for month of June last year. Remember reading this article. Former Chattanooga Christian star John Rhodes a key part of Major League Baseball’s top farm system | Chattanooga Times Free Press
  3. Against a left pitcher. Mostly at home where RF & CF isn't too challenging. Mayo still hasn't had many reps in the OF. It'll be curious if they start to give him more. I think that will be telling. If he's on the 26 man, he's going to ABs.
  4. I think it’s a combination of both. They are incredible at identifying talent that will thrive in their development system.
  5. I think it's crazy to carry both Mateo and Urias when Gunnar, Holliday, and Westburg can play SS. Mateo gives us 4 guys that can plan SS and Urias can in a pinch as well. Are other teams being super difficult in trade talks because they know we have a serious roster crunch? I image these trades and roster movements are all about timing.
  6. Do we trust an OF of Stowers, Hays, Mayo v. a tough lefty?
  7. Westburg hasn't played one single game at 1B in the minors, college, or summer ball. FWIW. Jordan Westburg Amateur, College & Minor Leagues Statistics | Baseball-Reference.com
  8. I'm surprised they have not given him any reps in the OF. They gave him a handful of games(8) in the minors and then seemingly cut the experiment. It would be nice if he could play RF at home v. tough left handers and LF on the road at parks, like Fenway, against tough lefties as well. I think Westburg will play 2B, 3B, and a little bit of SS. Would be great if he could mix in some OF as well so that Mayo can work his way into the lineup at 3B, 1B, & DH as much as possible. I agree with sports guy that O'Hearn (mostly) et al are the main ones blocking him. But, with Urias off the roster some more 3B ABs will open up as well.
  9. Or course it is. They get the most chances per year and are +3 runs in WAR calcs. (more than CF & 3B). Jackson can also play SS... Westburg is a 40/40 (future) and is seen as being able to play SS in a pinch. Holiday is a 40/50 defender and is see as a potential plus SS.
  10. Mullins has his work cut out for him today.
  11. Holliday is a plus defender at a premium position. Mayo is not.
  12. I think the hype gives him an advantage, and I think the talent and skill set seals the deal. He will hit, he will hit for some power, he will get on base, he will play very good defense, and he will steal bases. I don't think I've ever been so high on a prospect as I am on Holliday. I went 50% or higher.
  13. First 2 pitches were incredible takes. That CU must be lethal. I’m surprised he swung, that pitch was a good bit off the plate. Jackson has been in swing mode all ST.
