  1. It is kind of funny that you’re ok giving up Mayo but Enrique Bradfield would hold up a Mason Miller deal.
  2. Ok. Fuji was a gamble the same way Jacob Webb, Cionel Perez, Yohan Ramirez, and Danny Coulombe were gambles. We gave up nothing or something minimal and took a shot.
  3. I will say I’m encouraged by the way he’s swinging the bat the last few games when I’ve seen an AB or 2. He looks to be getting a good swing off most of the time. Not slappy but generating some good bat speed to the naked eye. Also hitting the ball where it’s pitched. I’ve seen him drive, not slap, a ball into LF, line one back up the middle, and the double to RF last night. I’m cautiously optimistic.
  4. Would you prefer to have Hall and Ortiz instead of Burnes?
  5. Another subtle difference. His stance was very upright with stiff legs before he initiated his load. Now he’s already flexed at his knees. Not sure what it means technically but it looks better now.
  6. It sure would suck if we had to face him in the playoffs as an opponent. Something to consider if he ever becomes available.
  7. You hit the nail on the head on both counts. Atrocious infield defense.
  8. Bradfield has a tendency to be aggressive on the bases to the point of being reckless. He reminds me of a little leaguer who just keeps running until someone tags him out. He led off the game tonight with an absolute laser over the RF’s head one hop off the wall. The RF played it clean and hit the cutoff man out in shallow center. I’ve never seen a runner thrown out by that much. Bradfield was halfway between 2nd and 3rd when the 3B caught the ball. Solid hit but it was an embarrassing display of base running.
  9. Does being sick make someone swing at balls 2 feet outside or 1 foot inside?
  10. She said something to the affect that the batter had previously hit I o a DP and wouldn’t it be nice if he could do it again. Neither Ben or Melanie seemed to realize that the O’s lost the DH once Rutschman became the catcher. Didn’t mention it once.
