This would require a lot of optimal scenarios to play out. And I still wouldn't feel that great about the pen you listed.

Not his sharpest outing today. Pretty pitch-inefficient. Gave up a series of pretty soft hits. Able to grind thru 4 innings (I assume his day is done) w/ solid results: 7 K, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 R, 86 pitches Edit: came back out to get 2 outs in the 5th. 94 pitch outing.

The Cardinals have some bullpen arms that look interesting on paper. Not sure which direction they will go. Looks like they have some talented young position players mixed in with their dinosaurs. I don't know if we have any surplus that would fill their needs. They would probably be looking for some pitching prospects that we don't really want to part with.

This is probably correct, but I could see things getting ugly for them if they are complacent. They need to win at a 60% rate from here out to reach 90 wins this season. That could be tough.

I agree on the Nats, which is why they are at the bottom of the list. They do Hunter Harvey coming into final arbitration year, which is appealing.
