It was O'Hearn, and yes, he could have come off the bag and gotten to that but that's still on the throw. Gunnar had no reason to spin twirl there. Just an immature play that he will hopefully learn from. He has plenty of arm and got to that ball in plenty of time to plant his foot and make a more accurate throw.
Really sucks for Cano. He did not deserve this at all. Henderson will need to atone for his bad goof. He has to know in that situation you don't risk a bad throw to put a guy on second.
Pitcher stares at the umpire after throwing a ball a ball off the plate like, "What, you aren't giving me that one after giving it to everyone else all game?"
It was a good combination for sure. You have a team that has struggled to keep leads in the Rockies. A team that has come back countless times this year in the Orioles. You have an umpire who is calling balls and strikes by hearing. A frustrated pitcher after said blind umpire calls a first pitch strike a ball who couldn't throw a strike to Mullins afterwards walking him. Then sprinkle in a a good good left-handed hitting power hitter and a pitcher that needs to throw a strike and boom! Two-run tie homer!
Sometimes you gotta tip the cap. Blach is pitching probably his best game of his life. Hitting the black, taking advantage of this umpires low and wide zone, just an amazing outing for him.
Sucks for us, but Blach is just on his A+ game today.
Means doesn't look quite ready yet, Velocity is down a bit still and not a lot of swing and miss. He doesn't look like someone ready to step in and provide starter's help yet. Hopefully he will improve.
