  1. That's a play most outfielders make. He made two detours in that route then just plain dropped it.
  2. Yeah, I don't know why Hyde ran up Bautista's pitch count. We also have to remember if Cano doesn't give up that inherited runner in the 8th, Bautista gets the night off most likely.
  3. Good points. Add in Bautista not having his change tonight and we got what we got. Again, stop playing SSs in CF, especially one that has choked several times in the 9th inning this year.
  4. Games not over yet fellas. This team finds ways to win games.
  5. Exactly. We need to remember, Mateo makes that catch at worse this is a tie game. I get trying to keep his speed around for the playoff roster, but STOP playing him.
  6. C'mon now. Bautista has been unhittable for awhile now. He just sucked tonight. It happens to everyone. They had some good at bats and he couldn't locate well and the splitter was not very good.
  7. They need to get Bautista out now. Stick a fork in him and stop running up his pitch count.
  8. Damn, this Tucker is hanging tough. Need to get it up and in on him.
  9. Holy crap. Maybe this is why you don't play a SS in CF.
  10. Is this where Gurgi shows up saying he's about to poop his pants because he's so worried!
  11. BTW, what is up with Devo's mic? Do the sound people not hear how low he's talking?
  12. If you remember in the game thread I was pretty critical of him out there and his comment about the wallet when he came back. Either way, I agree, that is not his strong suit. By the way, this is a good time to put out my extreme dislike of them broadcasting from the rooftop bar with a bunch of drunk people behind them (Including Angelos' wife who think she can just do what she wants).
  13. I doubt it, but personally, I think he was trying to be funny and just came off as a little bit demeaning to the folks out there. Like they were the lower class and would steal his stuff. I doubt he meant it that way, but I could see how it could have been taken that way by someone.
  14. Find the game where he went into the splash zone. I believe Ben went in first then he did. His was very uncomfortable the entire time. I can't remember the game though. Again, I have no idea if this is one of the events Drew was talking about, but it's the one that I remember.
  15. True. Just because I said it was cringe worthy does not mean I think he should have been suspended for it. Just saying that was the one comment I remember him making that made me go, "Whoa man, you're talking about paying customers there."
  16. Betcha one comment was when he said he thought that his wallet was stolen while he was in the splash zone. That one was cringe worthy.
  17. Boros is steering his guys to the place where they will make the most money. Pure and simple. Most players could care less about the owner. They care about their teammates, coaches and manager. I don't think the rest of this stuff matters to them. Players aren't going, "Man, I don't want to play on the good, young, up and coming talented team because the owner was mean to their announcer."
  18. BTW, as I've said before in this thread, I don't think the players and coaches care about any of this. BUT, the national media will have a field day if the team plays poorly or goes into a spiral regardless of the true affect.
  19. What does any of that have to do with what I said? As a newbie I'll assume you don't know who I am so we'll just forget the fact you just explained things I clearly know. Do you understand that just because I think Ortiz is a better defensive SS than Holliday does not mean I think he's a better prospect? Of course Holliday is the better prospect. As for where he plays, everything I said is true. It depends on who is still here. If Ortiz is playing a GG shortstop and hitting when Holliday arrives, they are not just going to bench him for Holliday, especially when Holliday has better foot speed and may be able to play Camden's big LF or CF. Now, I'm not saying that he should be moved to the outfield, just that if Gunner, Ortiz and Westburg are entrenched at 3B/SS/2B, Holliday could provide value in the outfield potentially (we have no idea how he would look at there so potentially is the key). Now, could Holliday still move over to 2B and be a better defensive 2B than Westburg, sure, but then where does Westburg go? Again, this is not a slight on Holliday if he fills a need in the outfield for a contending team at some point next year. Would I move him out there now, no way. He should be developed as a SS and 2B in my opinion. But next year if there could be playing time available for him and Ortiz is entrenched in SS and Westburg at 2B, then i do think you start giving him so outfield reps as well. He can always move back on the dirt.
  20. Britt reported this last night and then today on her radio spot.
  21. I think many fans have done this for a long time around here! While all of this is just an unneeded distraction that makes the whole organization look bad, at the end of the day, I care about the Orioles beating the Astros tonight. We'd all love to have new owners, but I won't let the ownership affect my fandom just like I didn't ultimate allow Jennifer Grohndal and her lackies affect my love of the Orioles when they took my press pass away after 20 years. I was an Orioles fan before them, and will be an Orioles fan long after they are no longer associated with the Orioles. All we can do is hope MLB or finances at some point pressures the Angelos family into selling.
