  1. BTW, this is the one part of his game I had overlooked and it's clear from watching him this year that even when he wasn't doing well, he still was finding ways to get key hits or key contact.
  2. First off, as I said in the game thread last night, "Thanks Adam" $$$. As I also said, maybe Frazier is THE top anti-analytics player in the game. I mean, who else can hit a 311 ft home run down a 314 ft RF with a .130 xBA? No one else. Only Adam Freakin' Anti-Analytics Frazier can. I'm just going to enjoy the ride!
  3. Well now you know what you need to do everytime the Orioles get down by 4 runs!
  4. Well I'll take that!!! Good win and nice to see Bautista just throwing some 101 MPH heat!
  5. I do find it apropos that even in an inning where Frazier hits the a 1.30 XBA home run that he grounds out to end the inning.
  6. Wait, who was the poster who said this was not fun and went to watch the Simpsons? I think he has to watch the Simpsons every game until the Orioles lose. Never mess with a streak!
  7. Frazier's 311 ft home run down a 314 ft Rf line had a .130 XBA. Maybe Frazier is the anti-analytics player because none of that makes sense.
  8. Every time Adam Frazier hits a home run I make money because the Adam Frazier 2023 thread will just explode with "I told you so's" from the three people who like anything mike Elias does! lol All I know is I'm going to enjoy his power surge and be thankful he keeps hitting home runs.
  9. Can't really disagree with anything you said here. Mountcastle is miscast as a middle of the order hitter which is why I was championing the Orioles need for a MOO this offseason. If Mounctastle is batting 6th in a lineup, that's ok if you are willing to live with the bad OBP and those bad streaks.
  10. I agree. Never mess with the baseball Gods and traditions! lol
  11. Agreed. That's why that pitch was 90% Bautista's fault on execution and 10% on Rutschman for making that pitch call. No way Judge is expecting a 100 MPH fastball up, and even if he was, he certainly was not going to be cheating to get to it.
  12. You know, if Bautista throws a 101 mph fastball up and Judge hits a HR, you tip the cap to him. Down 0-2, Judge knows he's most likely getting a splitter. Last time they met, All Bautista would throw him was splitters' and walked him. This time they went away then in with two fastballs to get 0-2. Good plan. The problem is, the pitch call was bad because no way Judge expects or gets to a 100 up on 0-2 when he's protecting against the splitter. So if do call a splitter. You take you glove and you put it on teh ground to tell the pitcher to bury that splitter. Fault on the side of throwing it on the dirt. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T THROW A MIDDLE MIDDLE CRAP SPLITTER.
  13. For me, this ranks right up there with the McKenna drop ball because how bad the "error" was. Dropping a simple flyball is about the equivalent of throwing an 0-2, middle middle splitter to Judge. It just should never happen if you are a major league pitcher. It definitely should not happen if you are a closer.
  14. Bautista is now what, 11 for 15 in save chances. That's not a good enough percentage to stick as a closer long term. He's a good strike out guy, and guy you want in those situations, but yeah, he's not your up a run closer because he can't be counted on not to throw an absolute garbage pitch at any point.
  15. Oh well.. It sucks. The Yankees earned this win. Came back down 4-0, came back down 5-4, then shutdown the Orioles late. Oh well, let's get them tomorrow.

  17. It would not be the worse strategy here. Lines up more forces.
  18. This game was over long before Baker came on. Bautista's little league pitch then the Orioles hitters unable to get a ball out of the infield in the 10th.
