I’m not opposed to Hyde And I don’t have a clear sense of how good or bad he managed this season. He was just “the guy”

I also have no idea how Maddon would be coming in to this circumstance, but he brought the Rays up from nothing, and Tampa Bay has a history of very good pitching every year.

I’m just wondering if Baltimore might participate in the feeding frenzy that’s going to surround his departure from Chicago if and when it happens.

I’d rather give Hyde some more time.

I can understand that to a degree.

I am tired of seeing so many minor league pitchers come up here that really have no business at this level.

If KG can get back to what he was, which is a big if, then as long as its cheap, then it cant hurt, can it?

    Guess not.

the way the train is traveling along the tracks, any help at all, would be an improvement.

Not sure about that Rick. I’d rather see a minor league pitcher than having KG back.

How would you feel about bringing KG back for 2020 to be the #4/#5 SP? He’s been pretty bad this season, so I’m guessing he’ll be non-tendered. Seems like he might be a decent reclamation project target given his pedigree and past success in Baltimore. Maybe a cheap 2020 with an option for 2021?

    No thank you.

Translation is, at least my own opinion.

Ownership has told Elias, he can not jettison that fat contract.

So if he is stuck with it, why not try and see what he can get done in the off-season to get Davis back to somewhat respectability.

Could he be a coach instead of a player?

I don't understand why Davis and Trumbo are getting playing time either.  I've just stopped kinda caring about who gets playing time and who doesn't at this point in the season.

With you on that. Why play those two?

I've tried to give Hyde the benefit of the doubt all season and in my opinion he has cost us at least 10 or more games so far with poor decisions. He cannot handle a pitching staff and the team is lacking in fundamentals. He openly admits it in his post game comments. Too many mental errors.  Does he deserve to return? I would have said yes back in July but now I have my doubts. Rebuilding I think we are all on board with but managing is a different story. He doesn't seem like an Elias kind of guy. He has the broom out.  Will Elias extend it to the manager and coaches?

Why should he be fired? Did he really have a fair chance with the team he had?

James Chandler "J.C." Shepherd is making his first-ever Major League start.

Shepherd was originally drafted out of high school in the 41st round by the White Sox, but chose instead to play college ball for Kentucky ........ the Red Sox drafted him in the 13th round 3 years later, in 2014. I'm guessing that his signing bonus (as well as the way in which he was regarded and handled by his drafting team) was significantly higher from waiting those 3 years instead of immediately signing out of high school.

Phoebus was before my time, I don't have a good image of him.  Apparently was about my height, but more... stout.  Relied on a big curve.  From 50 years away his career seems to have been somewhere between Chris Tillman and Jeremy Guthrie, comparing to modern Orioles.

Prayers for his friends and family.

This is not too fast as most performances are, and it’s just joyful. There’s a girl sitting on stage next to the leader apparently doing nothing which is actually a page turner which I think is incredibly distracting, because she’s doing nothing except turning a page every couple of minutes. Oh well

    Wow Philip I’m impressed.
