  1. Is that the second time we have seen not retouching the bag this post season?
  2. It was connected to the municipal water supply? I had a non imaginary Millennium Falcon that traversed the universe of my bedroom.
  3. I agree that its hard not to be Bochy or Baker and not have post season tricks up their sleeve. But I suspect those tricks manifest more in the background of getting your team in the post season vibe than in the details of in game strategy. On a random aside, why did the Giants get rid of Bochy?…or Baker for that matter. I think both are cool.
  4. A curse of the internet is that someone years from now can dredge up folks wearing JNCOs, approaching pastels as if they were primary colors, and drinking from imaginary hoses. But if everyone is just cool about it we will be good.
  5. One of the tropes that annoys me the most is the manager who “knows how to manage in the post season” If there is a strategy it seems to be: I am forced into pinch hitting/pitching this rando dude that somehow makes me look like a genius.
  6. I have less than zero interest in these two teams, but I am still intoxicated by October baseball. I might need rehab.
  7. Verlander fascinates me. I have been writing him off as over the pitching hill for the last five years or so.
  8. Yes, you are correct. It’s an embarrassment of riches. But given how insanely good they have looked during the regular season, it seems reasonable to think the expectation would skew a bit more than a coin flip.
  9. I’ll take it. Although, I am perhaps a bit of a Manchurian Candidate.
  10. I think it is just that Adley has cute pretty boy locks that distract from how hard he is.
  11. Aside from who won, the games this year have been pretty lackluster so far. The Phillies-Braves series was fun—particularly game 2–but otherwise it hasn’t felt like a battle of titans.
  12. The Dodgers find themselves in the same position as the Orioles. Let’s hope that the O’s don’t follow the usual Dodger trajectory.
  13. Phillips threw a nasty pitch to K Walker in the 9th.
  14. Arizona is an enigma to me. I don’t understand their mojo.
  15. The deadline never seems like a good position to be buying. It’s like Christmas Eve at the mall. You end up buying stuff because you are expected to, not because you really need it in the end or it is a good deal.
  16. The story of the season is how this pitching somehow managed to get them this far. It has perhaps overachieved and is definitely thin. It needs more depth across the organization. Deadline deals for relief pitching? Whatever. It works and fails with equal measure. Chapman is very capable in the next few days of inspiring another writer to wonder what in the world the Rangers were thinking.
  17. Gallen looks like my high school shop teacher.
  18. I think your plan is good…and agree we ain’t going back, but I am in Moose’s camp. I think you should either have a long season and a short playoffs to find the Crème de La crème. Or have a relatively short season and a long playoffs where you really figure out who is best. I prefer the long season where over months you learn who are the best teams. Then the playoffs are just a fun exhibition of talent plus things like Mateo suddenly deciding to mash.
  19. Roberts goes matchup and pulls Bobby Miller with two on two outs in the 2nd. Interesting.
  20. The Dodgers are already down 2 in the first. Their starting pitching gets soft after Kershaw and Bobby Miller. Lol.
  21. We only gave half the runs back. Progress!
  22. Our pitchers don’t like to throw strikes to start an inning….they like to ease into it.
