He got away with leaving fat pitches dead center early— before he had a chance to develop a reputation for crafty mojo. There was at least one cookie later that Atlanta missed. Just a twig of concern in an otherwise wonderful start.

It’s not so much the velocity. He can’t make it go where he wants it to as often as he should. So he walks dudes, then sends impressive enough cheese down the pipe for a three run homer to crush your soul.
