  1. On the bright side, that pitch could have been hit farther.
  2. Ay caramba. That was a buzz kill.
  3. Yeah, he has been changing speeds on the fastball.
  4. Great pitches by GRod! But Yandy and Randy grinded.
  5. That’s my memory of AJ as well. He needed white noise and yoga to find those two weeks for a few times a year. I’m not sure it’s any more ingrained with Mounty. But I think finding it for three weeks and a handful more times a year makes a big difference in our perception.
  6. But the idea of going down to AAA and “getting right” is so last decade. Stud prospects are coming up and flailing because it seems the gap in skills has grown. Folks ain’t translating the love of the robo ump and mediocre pitching to the Show. Plus Mullins wasn’t claimed off waivers. He is an old school Oriole. You send Mullins down because you think he is done—and you ask his thoughts on the matter beforehand—not because he is going through a soft patch.
  7. But that real game finds out if you are just doing a side session real quick.
  8. If we kept Mateo through all the OH angst, we are certainly throwing Mullins out there.
  9. Are the Rays any closer to getting a new stadium? I tried reading a couple articles and got tired. They do seem to have recently released some artistic renderings of their dream—which don’t seem all that different than the Trop: https://www.tampabay.com/sports/2024/05/30/rays-stadium-renderings-matt-silverman-st-petersburg-pinellas-populous/
  10. I have leaned more to the appearances philosophy. Just the stress of getting up, pitching a MLB pitch, doing it again a day or two later, etc. seems the rub. Once you are warm and pitching does 2O more make much of a difference? But I suspect I am wrong and Sig has data to convince me! Also, maybe this is much more about what makes a starter last?
  11. Which is the more important metric for our guys being around and Ace in October? Innings pitched or appearances?
  12. I guess that might be the question. The B reliever filler guy seems to have gone away. The long man/spot starter is a distant memory.
  13. OK. That wasn’t much of a rigmarole. Cole! Bullpen! Offense!
  14. Nothing comes easy. Even when he goes three up and down it’s a rigmarole.
  15. Pitching duel going on in The Bronx. ScOtt would be happy.
  16. First O’s infield ground ball out…more or less.
  17. Hit this! I don’t think so.
