Heck no. We have Santander and Hayes coming in next season - both RFers. And I'd bet on O'Day having more left in the tank than Markakis - who has no power and can't run.

You'll get no flak from me. I had the same thought. We are stuck with Trumbo and Davis, and that limits Mancini to LF. With his salary being very low, he's a solid trade chip, and the O's are loaded with OF prospects - especially if they move Mountcastle to LF.

It might depend on what they think of Santander - and how they both do in Spring Training.

Wow, I was going to ask those very questions, and you've already answered them. See, this is an example of why this is the best place to hangout. Thank you.

It'll happen, and it'll be fun to see.

I assume he's here to fill the Gentry role - which Buck believes is a very important role.
  7. First win 2 consecutive 5 in a rows, then another, then another...
  8. But again, he gets SO's when he needs them - such as coming in with the bases loaded in a one run game yesterday. And he averaged 1 SO per inning in the minors and has 57 SO's in his 80 MLB innings, so I don't think there's an issue with SO's. .
  9. We're fine. I simply responded to your post directed to me - where you asked me for clarification, and I gave it to you. Sorry if I over-did it.
  10. Yes, ridiculous. You said he got much less hype than Gausman. If you said, less hype, it wouldn't have been a ridiculous comment. I would have mildly disagreed with you. But you said much less - making it a ridiculous comment.
  11. I'm not going to look at how every organization ranked him at what particular time, but... You are correct that Bundy got more hype, and you're wrong that Gausman got more hype than Harvey. If anything, Harvey got more hype than Gausman. To say he got much less hype than Gausman is ridiculous.
  12. I like that plan - though 10 games in Frederick might make more sense - no need to rush there. 2019 is a great goal for the bigs, and I think it'll coincide well with a lot of other young O's. Him getting in some good innings this year is a huge plus and creates a lot of optimism.
  13. In the battle of Harvey vs Harvey, Harvey did a little better than Harvey. They were both outstanding. Are Hunter and Matt related?
  14. Lol, everyone get out of the way, cuz Corn is on a roll.
  15. Joey's made every play in RF. Gentry has been useful, but you shake a AAAA tree, and a dozen Gentry's fall off. I doubt anyone claims him, and he's very easy to replace. And I'm saying that as someone who appreciates him more than most do.
  16. Fact is - picking Santander... in the second round of Rule 5... and how they've used him was a great move by Duquette and made a lot of organizations look foolish for not picking him before the O's.
  17. And Tavares is 25 years old - he's like a poor man's Mullins.
  18. I thought Beckham would go for a double on the hit off the wall, but he showed discipline by staying on 1B. It got to the RFer so quickly that he likely would have been out. And what a play he made to end the game.
  19. And Buck made a point of saying that shouldn't have happened, and he was very upset about it. I expect that Tejada will be sent down at some point this month.
  20. 2,000 will be a great accomplishment for Nick. I guess the question is - Will his lack of power prevent teams from being interested in signing him and using him as a starter. I just don't see a team going with a RFer at his age with that little power and speed. But Nick works hard on every at bat, and plays RF nearly flawlessly within his limitations.
  21. O's run differential for the season: -65. Yankees: +103. Yankees are ahead of the O's by just 3.5 games.
  22. Everything about Castro says he's a legit solid major league reliever. Just 22 years old and pitched in the majors as a 20 year old. He was Colorado's #12 prospect in 2016 - as a reliever. Threw his fastball as high as 98 in fall instructional league - though he's more of a 94-95 guy - but at 22, there still could be some projection. Listed at 6'5 190, Palmer said he's all arms and legs at 6'7. 9.2 to 3.2 SO/W rate per 9 innings in 6 years in the minors. Career 1.135 WHIP and 3.28 ERA in the minors. And it looks like Gunkle is just minor league depth. This is the kind of trade that DD has excelled at as the O's GM. Terrific trade.
  23. Yup, and just like last year when we had the same discussion, look at the O's season run differential compared to the other teams that they're close to.
  24. With all respect to the policies here - which should be respected - I think we need to talk about an ex-O named Schilling. And I'm posting that request here - rather than in the main forum - out of respect. We can't ignore it, because it directly affects the player who's been the face of the franchise for a long time. Thank you.
  25. Meh, all it'd take is 1 bad game for Sedlock's career numbers to catch down Akin's. Not so with Akin's big advantage in SO's/W's. Looking at all the numbers, I'd say Akin is a little bit ahead of Sedlock right now. We can wait till June and reassess.
