Lethargic tonight on offense. Soft throwing seems to lull these guys to sleep. Lefties in key spots stopping Mullins and Henderson. Seems like game is over.

Do the Os kick the tires on this? RF /DH MOO bat upgrade. Maybe Angels pick up some of the $ depending on the prospects. Could likely provide value that no one else could match without doing long term damage. First game where Felix impact is felt. Hyde also backs himself into a corner with running through the entire BP and leaving yourself with Kreibel?

Can’t really hit LHP pitching. Offense has its moments but Gunnar effectiveness below average against LHP, O’Hearn doesn’t play, McKenna can’t hit, cold Santander as RHP = no runs.

Next 28 games are all about winning the division vs getting in the playoffs. If the Os “only” make the playoffs and Tampa wins the AL East are you disappointed, concerned, neutral (not really expected) or happy (need that edge/chip from lower expectations)?

Three questions/issues. 1) Can the high leverage /late inning outs obtained by Felix be replaced /obtained by others? 2) Can the starters pitch deeper to shorten the reliance on the BP? 3) Does the injury hurt the O's confidence, chemistry?
Players are close and it seems the "loss" of FB feels more like a huge blow (which it is) but they have and can overcome this. Also he has been built up into the "Mountain" late inning dramatics at home. He is not Mariano Rivera.
Felix does not and should not define this team. Other players need to step up, injuries are part of sports - Trent Dilfer and Joe Flacco are SB QB's - anything can happen. Dealing with and overcoming this will define the 2023 season/players on the team.
Where is the Animal House speech - Hyder needs to play in the locker room.
